Shit, its about the 3rd time I bought an Evil Angel-dvd from Germany (I am talking about the <original> EA sticker- ones, not those few MMV German releases) and it does all but freeze immediately in my laptop!

Am I the only one with this problem?
Any solutions?
Will they work in a good dvd-player? How good has it to be?

Fellow-Euro-porners please help! Ta,

Druber

HI THERE
If you look really hard is the surface of the disc smooth or slightly pitted, or discoloured or not look normal in anyway, and as its a laptop presumably you carry it around a lot maybe the laser lens is dusty, what speed is your dvdrom and how much RAM do you have in your p.c.
finally do other dvd's have this freezing problem.

Iam sure their are more knowledgeable members than me who will be along to help you shortly,

by the way your english is a damn sight better than my german!!!

do not meddle in the affairs of dragons for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup

This is strange as I was just thinking the same thing. I have bought two european licensed dvds of Evil Angel studio in the past month and both freeze regularly on my computer dvd drive, however they play without problems on my normal stand-alone dvd player (£80 player).

My computer has plenty of ram, a clean lens and yet still freezes. I am beginning to think that this may be related to a replication problem with european licensed dvds and a bad interaction with computer dvd drives.

Druber - are you saying that it's the Evil Angel movies that are made by our European customers...
or the Evil Angel DVDs made here in the United States?

I am not sure. They look american, but in a different thread you wrote me, if I recall right, that Evil Angel has given licences to produce their discs in Europe.
How can I figure out which is which?

The discs that I have are from a production company called Harmony. I dont know where these are made but Im guessing that they are one of Evil Angel European customers?

From what I can tell, Harmony are a UK company that produce EA DVDs (and others) for sale in Britain as R18 certified discs, in their licensed sex shops. As noted in other threads, these are sometimes cut and do not have the extras of the original US discs. I also feel that the picture quality isn't as good as the US versions.

In the Dutch market, and possibly others, I believe that a company called Shiva distributes their version of EA titles. Again, these do not have the same extras (if at all) of the original US version. They may be cut, I'm not sure.

However, getting back to the original question, I think it should be clear whether a disc is the US original or from Harmony or Shiva.

Sorry I can't tell why Druber is having trouble playing the discs. But EA discs are often quite demanding in terms of what hardware they play on. Although PC drives are usually more tolerant than home players. If any title is going to be problematic, it can often be an EA one. That's coz they're so damn top quality

As said before, their boxes look the same as the US-boxes I see on Evil Angels homepage. One causing trouble has an <All Blew Shirts> tag on the coloured side besides the EA-tag. The other is apparently made by a company called <MasterDisc> - at least that is what it says on the back of the disc.
