| BIGmike B-I-G-m-i-k-e 2335 Posts 3/01 | I was wondering if anyone has been having problems with the final scene on Joey Silvera's Service Animals 5? When I first watched and reviewed the title it worked great in my DVD-ROM, I know I should've played it in my standalone player after, to see if it plays good. But my DVD-ROM used to be so picky about things like that. My standalone DVD player will not play the final scene without skipping a lot. (But my DVD-ROM plays it fine) I returned the first copy thinking that maybe it was because it came lose during shipping and that scratched it. But when I got the exchanged copy it did the same thing as the previous disc... It's like the same problem with the Flesh Hunter 2 DVD... And now a question for Tricia, was this DVD produced at the same replication plant as Flesh Hunter 2?

I've also had this machine for three years. My other DVD player (well, actually my dad's) is a Philips. Last night I watched the DVD on the Philips DVD player and it got further in the scene, than on my Zenith, then the picture got pixelated, and paused, then stopped.

| tricia_devereaux Evil Angel DVD Patience is a virtue, but who wants to be virtuous? 4283 Posts 4/00 | Since these 2 DVDs were released by Evil Angel 5 days apart, without having my records here with me, I am willing to day that it is almost for sure that they had been sent to the same plant. We are currently in a huge technical and financial battle with that replication plant, trying to get them to compensate us for all of our costs, which include not just the solid costs of exchanges and shipping, but also loss of the support of our customers. That's something that you can't put a price tag on. At any rate, everyone has their own viewing habits, and if it is a huge inconvience for you to have to watch this DVD on your computer, for an ADT member, we can exchange it for a different Service Animals. As soon as we found out about Flesh Hunter 2, we had duplicate DLTs made up and sent it off to a different replication plant. We've had new (completely functional) copies of FH2 for over a month now. That's why I'm surprised about Service Animals 5. It's been out for a couple months, and no one had said anything yet. Until I read your post, I didn't know that there were possible problems with SA5, as this is the first complaint about this specific title. |
| BIGmike B-I-G-m-i-k-e 2335 Posts 3/01 | No loss here, shit happens. While it is frustrating, there is no way of knowing that some DVDs would turn out badly, right? I just thought that I should bring this to your attention. You probably haven't heard much about this DVD, if it is a problem, because perhaps, I am too big of a Joey Silvera fan, unlike others. Well, I have Service Animals 6, which plays fine(?) I haven't watched it on my standalone yet, but I believe it works fine, I will check that one out as well sometime this week. I really hate to do a review that recommends a title that may have a problem, because it makes me look bad. But like I said, it worked great in my DVD-ROM drive, so I just ass-u-me 'd that it worked fine in my other player. ---BIGmike, over and out!--- |

But the other one was perfect. Why don´t you trade you copy for ANOTHER SA5 and check it out? |

| vicg79 Member Toronto 93 Posts 12/01 | I rented this DVD from my local place a couple of months ago. It played fine all the way throughout. I'm not big on technical aspects of DVD players, all I know is I have a Sony. Actually, I'm gonna purchase a copy of it, I should have it by next week. I'll keep my fingers crossed that I don't run into any problems. |
| BIGmike B-I-G-m-i-k-e 2335 Posts 3/01 | Not really an inconvenince, but annoying. I do have a 18" viewable monitor so it's not like I can complain about not seeing. I played it again the other night on my DVD-ROM, played fine. I guess my DVD-ROM is better than I originally thought, because it is playing "trouble discs" with no problems. for an ADT member, we can exchange it for a different Service Animals. As great as that sounds I have all of them that are on DVD right now. But I will email you later about another problem I have.
Well, that certainly is great news, like I said previously, it plays fine in my DVD-ROM, and it only messes up on the last scene in my other players. ---BIGmike, over and out!--- |
