I guess it's the Human DNA to criticize others even though they have no clue themselves. I'm never going to criticize any professional involved in the porn industry. I'm very sure it's not as easy as an outsider or a viewer. I can only say what I like to see.

Casey Calvert mentioned here how tastes in g/g porn are varied. Made me think of Jay Sin, who might possibly be the most missed g/g director among posters overall on this site. What did Jay offer up? Girls sticking tongues & toys up other women's asses.
A few other popular directors who once valued sources of g/g porn around here: Belladonna kink.com crowd Jake Malone Christoph Clark Greg Lansky Yep, it's always been different strokes for different folks.
Lansky (WLT) moved onto other things. I don't know if it was right away but he did come out with Vixen/Blacked/etc eventually. It helped put a lot of girls on the map that eventually became huge stars, Dani Daniels and Eva Lovia for example (and Malena Morgan would have been a top star had she decided to do B/G).
Early SHV was directed by Nica Noelle and (someone can correct me if I'm wrong) but she was pushed out when the company changed hands. Most of my favorite scenes are from Nica's "Girls Kissing Girls" series under SHV, volumes 1-9. It produced gem after gem.
She then later on started Girl Candy Films but that didn't last long - I imagine revenue was a factor here.
I strongly believe if a studio gave us the genuineness of GFF + the passion of early SHV + better production value/storylines it would be a big hit. Don't know who is willing to do that, though. Heck, if I had any sort of industry connections I'd do it myself lol.
I feel like every other gg scene nowadays for me is either squirting or a model who as had to much work done on there whole body and they just ruin the whole scene and just some of the casting in general. And another major problem is that there aren't even that many scenes anyway, we get 1 gg scene a week from reality kings and twistys(but the start of the month is a solo scene) and sheseducedme, 1 scene from all girl massage every 2 weeks. And sweetheart usually gets 1 scene a week but it can vary. And brazzers vary a lot also. So WOW so many scenes per week, while we are getting about 100 BG scenes a day with these great looking female performers and these creepy perverted looking ass male performers.
Well unfortunately that's just supply and demand. No matter how good the G/G porn is, the demand for it will always pale in comparison to B/G because that's just what the majority of people enjoy, regardless of gender.
Lack of quality doesn't help surely doesn't help, though.
I don't need to have any experience with porn direction to realise why I don't like the direction of most GG scenes. gf25 has covered most of it but to add, all I want from a porn scene is believable arousal and seemingly real orgasms. Whether these are faked or not is sort of irrelevant as long as I can believe it's real.
It's impossible to believe anything when the women are having 'sex' in 49 different positions on a concrete floor whilst drenched in piss.
That's an extreme example but ultimately the more liberties the director takes from allowing 2 women to just have legitimate sex in a comfortable setting the less likely I am to believe that they are actually into it.
That isn't say I want monotonous sex scenes that fail to differ from each other by their artistic vision. But those things aren't mutuality exclusive.
It's an obvious point. We can criticise porn directors for their decisions. We don't need to be experts to identify what it is that they are doing which we dislike
I completely agree with you. Sadly I'm not sure that even if there was a studio that was willing that you would have the talent behind the camera to execute it properly. I said behind the camera because while I find that many recent female performers aren't very good at faking liking women. There are still plenty that could if the people producing lesbian porn knew what they were doing.
P.S: I will only add that I would be thrilled to see someone like a Jay Sin do another lesbian series centered around to anal penetration.
That would be the holy grail of lesbian porn if you could manage to combine all those elements. AllHerLuv right now is the one that I'd argue is clearly at the top of the G/G pile in terms of visual quality plus passionate performances. Slayed is actually *so* close to having a product that I think lesbian porn lovers would absolutely fall over for (Very high production quality, excellent visuals, and a good variety of toy versus no-toy scenes), but their damn performances keep falling under that "incredibly fake screaming" problem.
I actually think G/G content has been on a bit of an upswing over the last 6 months or so compared to how bad it had been in 2019 & 2020. Hopefully that trend carries into 2022.
