One of the distributors that I purchase DVDs from refuses to carry the "My Plaything" DVD series because of numerous customer complaints with the discs not playing properly. Nevertheless, I went elsewhere and bought "My Plaything Stacy Valentine" and "My Plaything Jenna Jameson." I have had no problems with the Stacy Valentine title, but the Jenna Jameson one is all messed up.

There is a part where she rides the sybian, and you're supposed to be able to use a speed control and an "orgasm" button to control the action. None of these functions works. The sybian is stuck on the "slow" speed.

There is also a "massage" section on the DVD. You should be able to choose from "massage ass," "Massage
breasts," "massage legs," and "massage feet." However, it is stuck on the "ass" part, and will not go to any others. It's disappointing because I'm a "leg" man.

Has anyone else noticed these problems? Is there any way to "get" these features to work? I'm using an APEX DVD player. Thanks.

Thighmaster,

I think you need to either return or buy a new Jenna dvd. All of mine work, but I dont have a APEX player (whatever the hell that is???) I have a SONY dvd player and it plays everything like a pro.

That would also be my assessment, that you have a bad disc and that your player is probably fine. I have all the My Playthings except Sylvia's and Miko's. The others all play fine except my Stacey one. It sometimes messes up and I am sure it is just the disc and not my player. I don't watch that one to much and the mess ups don't affect my enjoyment of the disc when I do watch it, I like the Chasing Stacy dvd better with her.

We have never any problems with the "My Plaything" titles and surely sold over a thousand so far. Only MP Jenna has been returned a few times however we could never duplicate the problems. So it looks more like some players don't seem to like that title. If I remember right one customer also had an APEX player.

Thanks for the responses. The APEX is a rather inexpensive player, you can get them as cheap as $89 now. But I haven't had any other problems with it, other than the My Plaything disc. I don't have a different player here, so I can't try the disc on two players to see what happens. And yes, from what I've heard, the Sony players are the best.

cheap cd players are usually are pieces of shit players. At first I thought you're gonna bitch about PS2 DVD player LOL.
APEX might be a shitty company and 89 bucks for a DVD player makes you think this must be a crappy ass DVD player.

Thighmaster,

Do yourself a favor and get yourself a Sony or Phillips DVD Player. Those 2 players have played every dvd I have ever bought. You will have no worries then.

Thighmaster,

I just got the Jenna My Plaything. I don't know why I got it, I heard bad reviews but I love Jenna and she looked so hot on the cover I had to get it. Anyway, I have the EXACT same problems. I thought for sure it was my DVD player (RCA) but who knows maybe there are some bad copies. Both problems occur in the "Bonus" section. The "Hands On" feature only lets me watch the ASS segment, if I try switching to something else it will start the disc over or send my to some screen requiring a password which I don't know. In the part where she rides the Sybian or whatever its called I can only watch the "Low" setting. When I try adjusting it to Medium or High the disk stops.

I just lent this DVD to a friend of mine who has Playstation 2. I will find out if he has a problem accessing these features and I'll report back.

I had problems watching "My Plaything with Jenna Jameson!"
The second disc with all the extra features was refused
by both players a Hitachi-DVP-250 and my DVD-ROM Aopen
1040. Everytime I received error-messages: cannot read disc
or invalid format...

So I went to an expert and he analyzed the disc.
Problem here: "a bad burn". Burned at too high speed
that the dvd-signal was not transferred correctly.

I returned this DVD to my supplier and after three! more
attempts I finally have one that...sometimes works!?!
Now I have it, I hardly watch it. The kind of sex on this
disc isn't really exciting nor my style, as I prefer hotter
sex...and two girls that do a fuck-scene with a strap-on
is not my "interactive fantasy". I liked Virtual Sex with
Jenna much more...but that's my personal view!

I bought this disc only because it has Jenna and not for
the sex part with Briana. Hear me...a porn-fan...bought it
not just for the sex!

Never had any problems with My Plaything with Nikki Tyler.
Nor any other DVD from this series! Just the Jameson DVD!

Caneboy,

Those are the EXACT problems I'm having. It's identical to what you just described. I also heard bad reviews about it, but bought it anyway because I love Jenna and she looks great. I also agree that the use of a strap-on is ridiculous, and there's no blowjob! But one of the reasons I bought it was for the solo masturbation performances. I wish there was more heat to that part, but she looks great in it, all tan and wet.

It looks like quite a few people may be having trouble with this title. Thanks for writing in! BTW, I lent "My Plaything Stacy Valentine" to a friend and it worked fine for him, even on a Playstation 2.

The Playstation 2 and some other DVD-players use a video
correction filter which is less sensitive than e.g.
my Hitachi. What I mean is...when a DVD has a failure
or is a bad burn (just a fraction) my Hitachi denies it.
It says that the DVD is damaged and therefore unreadable.

Sony uses a different less sensitive filter and therefore
you can watch even heavily damaged discs. You will have
some digital drop-outs but the player will accept the DVD.

So it's not just the DVD but also the type of player you
use! That this My Plaything with Jenna Jameson DVD causes
so many problems is a disgrace. They should have tested it
better before shipping any of these. This not only costs
money but they ask a lot of your patience too.

There are many discs which cause problems in various players and computer DVD drives. It is not limited to APEX and other less expensive brands. Sometimes name brands do not perform also well. Many problems were reported with earlier Toshiba players for example.

As for Sony, although I was pleased it played every disc I played on it, the laser pickup burned out in mine after less than a year and it didn't have that many hours on it. A friend experienced the exact same problem, with the same model (560) also less than a year after he purchased it.

Right now, I am trying out a "Shinsonic" I got for $69. It works quite well, especially considering the price. It is not as smooth as my Sony player, but it cost 1/4 the cost. So far, it has not choked on any discs. By the way, I also have an cheap APEX and it works well also!

I maintain a list of "problem DVDs" at my website. It's a good idea to check it out from time to time -- especially if you have a difficult player. I also appreciate hearing from people who experience difficulties.
