Not all of the new PXP discs have the problem to the same extent as other discs do. But they ALL have the problem to some extent (at lease every one that I have seen has had it).

A couple of the discs that were released after the problem was supposed to have been fixed have been among the absolute worst as far as the problem is concerned. Others have not been so bad.

To be fair, if I didn't know about the problem, I probably wouldn't notice it on the titles where it isn't so bad. Unfortunately, the discs where it isn't so bad are much rarer than the ones where it is very obvious.

Sanchez is right, even when the problem isn't so obvious, the color still suffers from the chroma shift. However, if that were the only problem, I could easily live with that.

Is it "me", or are the Sean Michaels discs halo-free ? Latest viewed : Natural Beauties 1 (or is it n°2 the one featuring Carmen on the box-cover).

Six Pack has the Halo problem but the Chroma shift seems fine.

Anything new on this topic? Is the halo problem finally gone or do the new releases sill have it?

I gotta say it kinda sucks being a DVD collector 2 decades later and getting a rare Platinum X DVDs with this horrible chromatic fringing. Anything from 2004/5 I tend to avoid because I'm worried it will look like shit. All the actresses have 4 eyebrows. their actual eyebrows and then a blue/green pair off to the right. LOL. Oh well. Fascinating to read this old thread though. What a time capsule. RIP Brandon.
