Cloudburst Deactivated User 392 Posts 1/14	Posted - Jan 30 2014 : 10:29AM Why are there what I guess you would call very prolific "top" male performers like James Deen, Manuel Ferrara, Steve Holmes, Rocco Sifredi, Mark Wood, Lex Steel, Sean Michaels (you get the point) that perform in TONS of scenes. Then you have what I would call a second level of male performer who just does A LOT of scenes (not tons). To me there is no distinguishable difference between these two "classes" of male porn stars, so what are some reasons why some perform in tons and the others just do a lots of scenes? Peter North might have a huge genetic advantage given his loads, but for the thousands of scenes he's done, he's got to have made porn the #1 priority in order to deliver. Edited by - Cloudburst on Jan 30 2014 Click to expand It would seem that some of those guys have formed some sort of relationship with particular studios/companies and those studios/directors use them alot because of it. Some guys seem to have that with several studios. For example DIGITAL PLAYGROUND mostly usues the same few guys over and over and the same is mostly true for BRAZZERS. Manuel not only a go to guy for both of those studios but for EVIL ANGEL as well where he even has his own titles. Plus I have to image other directors use him because he's a good performer and girls probably request him. So Manuel ends up working a lot. A few other guys seem to have a similar thing going on. I've heard several girls mention Jon Jon is their fav performer to work with but Jon Jon will probably never be a huge pornstar like some others because he doesn't have the size of Lex or Mandingo for a studio to exploit. He doesn't have the presence or smooth looks of Lex or Sean Michaels. And maybe i'm wong but I don't see a studio building a line starring him like Lex, Sean, LT, or some others we've seen. So even though he's a good performer I don't think he'll ever be a really big name in porn the way some of the guys you mention are. There are many guys in porn like that. The only exception is James Deen who started in 2004. I don't care which of the below performers you pick but none of them would have the career they have had if they had started porn just a couple of years. There is now so few studios shooting porn on a regular basis that it's no longer possible to accumulate the number of scenes these guys have managed to do.
