I know it declines from the original site's name Adult DVD Talk. I also know that there is an already built platform, specially adjusted to DVD reviews.
On the other hand world porn is changing, many adult companies have exclusively orientated in scene video streaming through Internet, many more stopped producing DVDs, or the DVDs they produce contain much older scenes. So there is a considerable amount of porn scenes that are not reviewed in this site.
Now, anyone through the adult forums can review a scene if he wants. However there is no ... let say official.. (with searches, performer name lists, scene grading, producers links and everything)... way to do it. much like the DVD reviews.
I was wondering if we could use the already made platform for DVD reviews in order to describe only a scene.
And if the ADT masters are planning to create a new enhanced platform suitable also for scenes in the future.

If you want that, you have to figure out how to monetize it. With DVDs, someone reads a review here and there are links to merchants who sell it; clicking the links is how the webmasters make their money--by bringing customers in. With scenes, if you're going to do the same thing, you need the scene to link to merchants who sell it. I may be wrong but I'm guessing the database to make that happen would be monsterous and the maintenance would be extremely difficult. Websites who sell the content directly often do a poor job of it.
I'm not saying it's a bad idea at all. I'm just saying it's more likely to happen when there's money to be made.

^You gave me food for thoughts jayo...with porn scenes you actually do the same thing like with DVDs the only problem is that instead of a couple of mediates merchants e.g (adultdvdempire, popoprn etc..) you have to deal straight with the production company. Hmm... if the scenes are part of a DVD, something tells me that this would not make the mediate merchants very happy, but if they are not, then there is an opportunity here to make money. And yes the database would be larger and more "sophisticated" but i think it is worthy to invest.

It's certainly possible and really is the direction the industry has been going for quite some time. Most DVD releases these days are simply a collection of scenes that also appear on various websites.
There are numerous logistical challenges in implementing something like this for us. The technical end of things is fairly straightforward. The websites that are producing/releasing scenes typically come from a different mindset. They don't think of a scene as a 'product' from the perspective of the data attributes. Things like cast lists are haphazardly maintained and no consistency of data from website to website. It's not like we can easily get data feeds from a few dozen different sites and automate the process of getting all that info into our database.
As an example, a company releases a scene with a brand new girl that calls herself Some Hot Porn Chick. Some Hot Porn Chick shoots three scenes for company X. Then she goes to Company Y and the guys there tell her "Hey, BTW, Some Hot Porn Chick is also the name of a transsexual performer." So she decides to change her name for that company's scenes. By the time the scene makes it to DVD a few months later she's already on her third or fourth stage name.
We would need a small army of volunteer data managers to really pull this off well.

We would like to do this. So who wants to sign up for the volunteer data army? :)

And it's not just the girls that change their names, the websites (especially the European ones seem to love that) changes them all the time too.

Olala, how many years passed miss Janitor? I haven't read your lines for quite some time now... How are you btw?
You are a smart businesswoman and you Drew understand it is not only about reviews. We are talking about something very very promising here.
I can help you with the database as well as many many other matters. I have some pretty neat ideas that can change the entire industry to the better and .. getting our share from the growth too. Folks.. I am no kidding, I REALLY think we have to come further in touch. It is a big opportunity here. Don't waste it.

Maybe just start simple with a new forum, say, "The Scene", in keeping with "The Porn Pool" and "The Feature Side".
The threads would be highly moderated and not discussion based. Each producer could have their own official threads to announce new scenes. Members could also have their own fan threads to review scenes they liked, so I could start a "jfarley reviews" thread and somebody else could start a "DP reviews" thread.
Only the thread owners would be allowed to post, but they could grant posting privileges to other members they wanted to share the load with (plenty of members here like to share the load :-) ).
Some form of simple "liked" and "reviewed" mechanism could be setup. So under the official scene announcements, you'd have a list of member names that liked that scene, and a list of links to member reviews of that scene.
I think that alone would be enough to get the ball rolling. From there you could add ratings, tags for directors, tags for performers, tags for sex acts, people who liked this also liked links, etc.. You only need maintain a list of verified players, the producers and fans can then tag appropriately.

Because people would comment on the threads, if only the OP and "allowed" members are able to post in certain threads, it would be a all day process removing other posts and checking to see who was allowed to post in each thread. Note the amount of daily violations that occur of posting tube sites and images that aren't compliant, despite both rules being clearly posted.

I've begun to post individual scene reviews after searching for the performer's name and using the performer's thread.
It's an evaluation of a performance that many may be searching for.
Using a thread already started may make that search easier for consumers.
Purchasing and downloading individual scenes is a cost-effective way for me to enjoy watching adult performances, without obtaining the entire title.
We share a common interest in watching beautiful women exhibit pleasure, StarGrek.

Interesting that five years later we are still reviewing porn by DVD and not by scene. Personally, I only ever review by scene.

We still face the same data maintenance issues related to scenes. We would need a small army of volunteers to maintain the data. We already have a hard time keeping up with the DVD releases.

I agree that reviewing scenes would be a great service to the consumers that read reviews here but the logistics are challenging. But before we can think about integrating scene reviews we need to get the site completely redesigned.
