Just wanted to give a notification that I'm going to write a program that purges images that have been uploaded by users and do not appear in forum posts, reviews or private messages. Sometimes people upload the same image 3+ times and only use one version of it in a forum post. We're still storing and hosting the ones that don't appear in reviews, posts or private messages. That will change soon. If you're using our servers to host images that you're using on other websites they will soon stop appearing too.

I've made some progress on this. I'm a little surprised to learn that almost 15% of the images people have uploaded to our servers aren't used anywhere on ADT. Almost 59k user uploads (out of more than 410k) are sitting on our drives and not in use on the site. These files will be going away soon, likely less than 48 hours from now. So if you have stuff stored on our servers and you don't have copies you should send me a PM explaining why I shouldn't remove your files.

Several times I have uploaded a photo and then received a copyright warning, so I ended up not using the photo. That may account for a few of them.

^That makes sense.

There's a few users that have thousands of of uploads that aren't used anywhere on the site.

I'm going to set this process up so it automatically purges unused content a month after it's uploaded.

This is finished now. Purged just under 30GB of files.
