The basic reason is, that most Internet sites want you to believe that you are receiving "exclusive" content/performers only available on their sites. The easiest way to do this is to give the girl a different name.

Now, whereas the IAFD is able to look at and track most porn movies, because the information is openly available (usually available for "free"), Internet sites charge for access to their content. IMHO, this will thwart any efforts to track Internet content in any comprehensive way (at least in a single database).

Now, even if someone finds a way to track Internet content in a financially viable way, will they be able to reconcile the many AKAs that a given performer will often be presented as (remember, the websites themselves have a vested interest in you believing their performers and content are "exclusive")?

It will be interesting to see how this develops over time.

The person who runs that site may in the future want to make the info in some kind of list and not have it linked to the sites the scenes are from.

Do you:

Existing Members
=================
1. Inform members and continue to bill them for a "closeout" period of time, and then stop.

2. Say nothing to members, just keep billing them.

3. Inform members and then charge them a one-time, non-recurring fee that will give them access to the site forever unti it shut downs or changes hands.

Prospective Members
====================

1. Mention nothing to prospective memebers about the status of the site. Simply advertise the regular monthly fees. NOTE: This may seem unethical, but if the site in question has a HUGE load of content, it may not be that bad.

2. Let propsective memebers know that the site is no longer updating and charge a slighty higher, but non-recurring "lifetime access" fee.

3. Mention nothing about the site stopping updates, but include memberships to other "network" sites for free as part of the monthly fee deal. This gives the customer access to more content, perhaps lessening the dissapointment he feels when he learns the original site is "Dead".
