DVD-DEPOT is having a 4-Day Customer Appreciation sale but there's something about it I don't understand as in:I don't get the part about "The more you buy, The more you save". I mean the discount is always 10% not matter how much you spent so I really don't save more money by buying more movies, right?
Factually, it is true. You spend more, you do indeed save more. Just not on the items you've already intended to buy. Rather, only in absolute terms measured against what each order would have cost at full price. As such, it doesn't break any rules. It's all about spin and it happens in politics (and other arenas) all the time !
Speaking more generally, the spinmeisters do it at their instructor's peril. Consumers and voters don't like if you (generic 'you') take the piss too much....
Of course, this is not to say the site isn't actually doing good deals. On this I have no comment as I have yet investigate the sale...
