johnnyprotten New Member 1 Posts 2/06	Posted - Feb 12 2006 : 1:49AM i read a review of lauren phoenix's fuck me by bono-one and the dvd extras on my copy are different from what's in the review.that when i noticed my copy is for canadian distribution.i bought it through sexdvd.com,a canadian store. are all evil angel dvds released for the canadian market slightly different than for other markets? thanks for any input anybody has on this subject. Yours might say that on the cover. They are edited differently than in the US versions. I have not been able to discern any rhyme or reason to what they cut vs. what they leave in the Canadian versions. [Link]

They have no resale value so I got screwed for almost $200. P.S. In addition to Valentine Video, avoid Mile High Productions. They sell that same kind of bullshit for Smash and DVSX up north. [Link]

Valentine Video and there editing suck. So from now on when i buy a movie i buy it on us website or ebay(get sure it come from the us) [Link]

I would say our releases are 95% uncut. We are currently adding extra's as well...just thought i should clarify that as it seems you have the wrong info...have a good day and maybe give us another chance! Jon B [Link]

Click to expand As a longtime consumer who's a bit cynical about the antics of Canadian video/DVD distributors over the years, I would say that the principal issue is saving space (ie how much do we have to get rid of to fit on a DVD5 instead of a more expensive DVD9). Usually, the first thing to go are any extras, BTS etc. As to what part of the actual movie gets cut, usually not much of anything, unless it involves violence, which is getting to be more of an issue with some studios, urination, or some anal creampie eating. To be fair to the distributors, though, they have to deal with 10 separate licencing jurisdictions of varying positions on sexual morality, and two languages. Therefore, it makes economic sense to prepare one English version and one French version, with that version cut to the demands of the most conservative jurisdiction. Also, licencing requirements add costs per unit for the approval stickers, which reduces their margins. I think the biggest concern is when a dual-layer DVD with a bunch of extras gets stripped of the extras to bring it down to a single-layer DVD. That would truly make it unsellable. [Link]
