As far as where or why this is rooted in Japanese culture, I have no idea. Being in the business for a reasonable amount of time now, I feel like I have at least an elementary understanding of almost all things porn related, but honestly, this one still confounds me. Japanese porn targeted to overseas markets is not censored. There is a ton of uncensored Japanese porn out there. The problem is that the top Japanese porn studios, the ones with the most beautiful girls, produce movies solely for the domestic Japanese market.They make more than enough money from the Japanese market and have no interest at all at selling their product overseas.
