i'm not really into asian girls but just out of curiosity , why don't they sell uncensored versions of their movies , if you're not in japan there is no way they could accuse them of anything , they could make a lot of money , we all know the rest of the world can't stand the stupid mosaic so why do they insist on selling pixelated videos ? maybe because some scenes are not even real ? that's a possibility, there is no way to be 100 % sure the sex is real i'm pretty sure the japanese could come up with some sort of animation.
one more thing , the most attractive actresses (that's what most people say ) do NOT shoot uncensored videos , is it just a coincidence ?? don't think so !!!

I was wondering about this myself . I have seen many of the JAV videos , why are they censored outside Japan ? They are a number released that are without mosaic , but far outnumberd by those with , I would think that they would sell better without .

I think it's just a cultural thing. I think almost all of the sex is real. It's like how they insist on bleeping out the swear words on American TV. It's incredibly stupid and they're not preventing anyone from hearing anything they haven't heard before but they're gonna do what they're gonna do.

For the record, I know that there are authentic Japanese videos around without mosaic. AEBN used to have a slew of them, but I couldn't tell you if they're still there.
Really, it's just a matter of whether or not the people who did the production are willing to license the unedited films or if distributors care enough to pursue them.
As far as where or why this is rooted in Japanese culture, I have no idea. Being in the business for a reasonable amount of time now, I feel like I have at least an elementary understanding of almost all things porn related, but honestly, this one still confounds me.

The laws governing censorship in Japan go back to the post-war Macarthur military administration. They are not a reflection of Japanese culture, as such. Japan is a very open and tolerant country when it comes to matters sexual.
Mosaic censorship only applies to porn distributed within Japan. Japanese porn targeted to overseas markets is not censored. There is a ton of uncensored Japanese porn out there. The problem is that the top Japanese porn studios, the ones with the most beautiful girls, produce movies solely for the domestic Japanese market. They make more than enough money from the Japanese market and have no interest at all at selling their product overseas.

I feel sorry for the Japanese guys having to beat off to a mosaic covered pussy,it's like getting a jig saw and spending hours assembling it only to find the final piece is missing.
