I'm aware that the two companies are not affiliated anymore, that the quality (authoring) of their dvds used to leave a lot to eb desired, and that TVX are now (re-)authoring and distributing their products on their own...BTW I'm thinking of purchasing the new version of Titillation if someone can confirm that this new version is really superior.
Now, could you tell me if the quality of the latest VCX discs has improved as well ?
TVX was always been its own line, simply there for a while housed & distributed under the VCX umbrella when they relocated from Van Nuys, CA to Las Vegas. The owner of TVX collected his titles and since last March has opted to release them, author them and add to their library as a solo company, without any connection to VCX whatsoever.
"Titilation", which was always a TVX owned title, and which was released on DVD when TVX was associated with VCX is now being reworked (cleaned-up) by the new TVX . Also FYI, there is another company out there calling itself "Collector Classic" which is actually pirating the TVX name and duping about 12 of the titles, selling them as well. We do believe that these titles are duped from the VCX line in fact. Just a note to beware of pirated copies.
I cannot speak for the quality of the VCX line as of late, I do know that their releases have soured a bit - with the exception of smart purchases such as "ATaste of Money" & "The Dancers". I'm sure both companies will move ahead. Speaking for TVX - we are transfering the new releases to DVD one by one, cleaning them up & only eliminating scenes (to protect the distributors actually) when we absolutely have to - but retaining the Masters intact.
Our February releases are in fact - "Anna Obsessed, Ladies' Night, the Challenge of Desire, Indecent Exposure" and "Please Mr. Postman".

TVXCreative, any word on the TVX website? I'd like to be able to know when the latest TVX releases are coming out. Currently there doesn't seem to be a good Coming Soon list for classic DVD's, all I can find are lists of the contemporary titles I don't care about. :)
I just found out that, in addition of fivestardvd.com, adultdvdempire also carries the Collector Series under the TVX section. To the best of my knowledge, lasersedge.com carries the "new" TVX dvds under the TVX file (only 2 titles so far), and xrentdvd.com also carries the new versions when available as well as the VCX discs for the other films.

I love the new artwork on these titles, and everything looks excellent...except no extras... That is the only disappointment, I wish there could be a few commentaries thrown in there (Robert McCallum is still around for INDECENT EXPOSURE, for example) and maybe star interviews. Industry connections can usually turn up even those are retired, like Loni Sanders (PLEASE MR. POSTMAN). Just a suggestion, as the history of these films is just as important as seeing them digitally restored. Other than that, can't wait for all of these!
I agree completely. I pretty much only buy XXX DVDs that have commentaries anymore because I want to hear the stars talking about the movies and how they were made, especially the one from the golden age. If we have the resources available, why not use them? They won't be around forever.
So sorry you got a bad DVD, oddobsession, I don't believe all the transfers are bad at all.

Hey Everyone - We have been bombarded with conflicting email questions lately as well as links to forum posts (in particular DVD Maniacs Forum) about the validity of TVX Films, its personnel as well as the pirated Colelctors Classix titles - purported to be TVX titles. As it stands now (we're not talking DVD transfer quality, just legal stuff) there is a major multi-copyright lawsuit pending against VCX and Collector's Classix, which I really cannot go into detail about. Simply stated, when the dust settles in about a month or so, I will gladly update eveyone as to what some companies / people will do & to what lengths they go to because of greed. It really is a shame to be ripped off, still a big part of our business is legally protecting our name from those who are masking it & our copywritten films as theirs.
I was just about to post a thread this morning about that after I saw the stuff on DVDManiacs. For a minute I thought the Collector's Classix was the legitimate TVX, then I did a search and found a post from a while ago where you'd explained it a little bit. I'll be curious to hear how it turns out, good luck.
Thanks for the patience everyone, there are impending lawsuits against both VCX and Collector's Classix (working together we have learned) for distributing pirated TVX product & ripping off copyrighted covers. Again, all will be discussed pending the outcome.

Sorry again to ask, but can one be sure to have a legal TVX dvd when the e-mail adress on the back cover is not vcx but TVX and where there's no Collectors Classic label on the front cover? In other words, am I buying the real one when purchasing from this store?
To answer your question - the absolute correct email address listed on the back of the authentic TVX DVD insert is bob@tvxfilms.com, the true website is www.tvxfilms.com (password :distributor).
I don't know if you had been following this thread prior, but Collectors Classix is not distributing authentic TVX product, and is being formally sued (along with VCX & their lawyers) for a multitude of charges, namely copyright infringement, illegally duplicating content from a TVX DVD, stealing TVX artwork to create a Collectors Classix cover, etc - all without a license.
The cover you have linked to "The Seduction of Cindy", on Xrentdvd.com, is the legal TVX Title. There should be NO Collectors Classix, nor VCX logo anywhere on the packaging.
I was under the impression that Roberta Findlay owned HOT NURSES, aka SWEET, SWEET FREEDOM. There are few of her films from the 1970's that are owned by other parties. I know she owns LOVE IN STRANGE PLACES, from around that same time.
And if Essex was absorbed by Hustler, as mentioned in another thread, how can TVX be putting out ANGEL ON FIRE? That was an Essex title, and Roberta doesn't own that one (producer Allan Shackleton sold it to Essex).
The owner of the current TVX was partners with the owner (Joe Steinman) of Essex back in the day, and there are certain movies which Essex released on VHS, which he (now TVX) has the DVD rights to distribute. All the paperwork for every title is is order as was the public domain verification for "Hot Nurses" which Roberta Findlay sold to a few people, as so many, many other directors did back then (ie: Hollywood Video's "Caught From Behind" series which was sold to Totally Tasteless Video in the late '90's). It does get confusing - but it boils down to authentic certificates of movie title ownership, DVD (not VHS) rights and verified copyrights.
