I actually had the pleasure of hanging out with him and Penny Flame one afternoon in Soho and Chinatown -- kind of on the fly. Penny's bodacious boobs threatened to overwhelm her top, but what I liked a lot about both of them was how UN-porn they are. Van 'came of age" in Chatsworth, so a career in porn was, perhaps, inevitable. I think he's one of the better "vibe" directors.
