Gabriel Nine, I think you and Houston Don asked me to put forward my comments and reviews about European porn (DBM, Videorama).

It appears that you reviewed "Schreie junger Frauen" (Maximum Perversum, Videorama) for www.rame.net. Shouldn't you copy this (good!) review of a (good!) German movie to ADT? The DVD version is identical to the VHS version.

I'm working on a review of a Videorama title that seems to only be available from Europe and in PAL. It's an awesome movie but I'm a very, very slow reviewer. It's probably a month or so away from being ready.

Something that's proving to be a bit of a problem is talking about the whole PAL, multi region thing. Most people in the USA have never had to worry about it and probably never will, but those who are interested in movies from overseas can often get very confused very quickly. I remember hearing about an Australian DVD store that were nearly driven insane when 90% of people ordering from the USA had no idea they wouldn't work with most USA / NTSC equipment.

A relatively simple guide to the whole PAL, multi region thing would be a very handy resource. Maybe someone could find a FAQ or something we could link to? I know about a few things and would be happy to help contribute to one, but I'm not an expert.

The best I could find in 20 seconds of searching (I'm pretty lazy):

Hurricane, it's a good point. (And a good movie too).

Basically, I never really thought of it!

Secondly, I have bought some Videorama DVDs that were edited from the original version and in this case I had no evidence to prove whether the DVD and VHS Schreie junger Frauen are the same.

Thirdly, I don't know how the bosses of ADT feel about copying stuff from an VHS review - to me, it's just not quite right. I could do this with a lot of the reviews I have written, but they would not be accurate enough to be entirely useful to the DVD buyer who wants DVD specific info.

Besides, it's available in a public forum at rame.net if anyone wants to read it.

But thanks for your interest in my reviews. If I do review any more Videorama DVDs I will be posting the review here!
