I was just at their site and it seems good. I live in Denamrk, and there are some US titles that I'd like. They have many of the titles that I can't get where I usually shop(adultdvdempire(ADE)), so I'm considering to become a customer there. However, I have a few questions first:
I usually use UPS Int'l Priority for my orders. This seems to be possible at laseredge as well. But I'd like to know if they do it the same way as ADE. At ADE they have this piece of paper in a plastic holder on the box, like an invoice. On this invoice, the value of each dvd is listed, and the company(like diabolic), but the titles of the movies are not mentioned which I really like. Is it the same at laseredge? If the movie titles are on the invoice it might give me problems with customs and such.

I'm gonna be paing by VISA, but I can see that they might want me to fax a scan of the credit card. Why? It seems risky.

Also, what are peoples experience with laserege?

I think those are the questions for now. I hope they make sense ;-)

Just curious as to what problems the titles could cause in Danish customs.
Nothing that a US based shop would sell is likely to be illegal in DK. The officials may get a laugh over some of the gonzo titles, but that should be all.

Hmmm you might be right Kperv. But take a title like "teens with tits 2" I'd like that one because I hear Gia Paloma has an amazing scene in it, but they title might is really crap, and I could imagine it giving problems.
But I do also prefer that no one knows what I'm ordering.

Just spent the last 10 min at laseredge, they have so many titles I've been wanting for long :-)

He, he, brown paper bag job, eh? Know what I mean nudge nudge wink wink.
Understandable though.
Me too coincidently. The courier services seem to be f*ucking with DV-Depot's adult shipping options. So I'm considering Lasers Edge or Five Star myself.
Even if they do get taxed, Lasers' prices just about make up for it.
I'm just not too sure about using non-guaranteed shipping. I don't really fancy being stuck with the bill if the shipment dissappears.

Lol yeah brown paper bag job indeed :-) Yeah I don't want too many to know, if you know what I mean :-)

Hmmm but not all their shipping methods are non-guaranteed shipping. I'm pretty sure that if you choose UPS Int'l Priority, then they are guaranteed. It has worked very well for me at adultdvdempire.
What country do you live in?
I'm pretty sure I'll try laseredge, though I have to know the few last details first.

A question about UPS Int'l Priority at laseredge, the covers are included right?

I'm sure DHL and UPS are insured, but they're $25 and $30 respectively. Yikes. That's what kept the total down at DV-Depot. They subsidised courier shipping.
I don't think Global priority mail shipping will be guaranteed delivery.
Denmark.
I may well do so too soon.
In this thread it says that with the "GLOBAL PRIORITY (No Cases!)" option the jacket and any inserts are shipped along with the DVD, so they should also be included when the cases aren't removed.

I can live with 25-30 $, I'll just order a lot at once. I'm not gonna do GLOBAL PRIORITY, I want the cases too.
I'd go with UPS Int'l Priority, though it may seem a little expensive, then at least you're guarenteed. I wouldn't dare to choose an shipping method that aren't guaranteed, it would be too risky.
Nice to see another danish fan of US porn in here :-)
Got a fav star and what movies are you interested in at laseredge? I'm just curious, you don't have to reply :-)

Something escapes me in this discusison about Lasersedge shipping options. I've been ordering from them for more than 2 years now, and I've always selected the $1.99 "adult special" shipping option, and I'm perfectly happy with that. You can order as many titles as you want (I never ordered more than 6 items per order though..)..I live in France, and I've always received the parcels quite fast : 6 to 15 business days is not that long for USA-Europe shipments.
My 2 Euro cents.

I'm getting two Kimi Lixx titles and two from KickAss. The Kimi titles have some pervy names , but nothing that anyone in their right mind could mistake for anything with too young girls. So customs wise I'm good.
Maybe I'll go with Lasers Edge.
Lasers are missing one of the Kimi's though. So I might try out Fivestar for that one. With some older titles they are so cheap that even with taxes it's fine.

And about faxing them a copy of your CC.
I'm not keen on that either.
I had to do it once with my company card. I asked the book-keeping dept. first and they didn't have a problem with it though.

To Wodgers:
Thanks for the input.
How fast do you typically get the shipment? What about import taxes?

Yeah thanks for the input Wodgers. When you registered, did you have to fax them a copy of you CC? Or did you just fill in the information needed, and then they didn't require additional info?
Ahh Kimi Lix, she's pretty hot, understandable why you want titles with her
If you do order from Fivestar, please let me know how it goes. I'm probably gonna go with laseedge, but I'm gonna wait till august or september, because my VISA is about to expire.

Thanks Wodgers, it sounds good because I don't like the idea of faxing a copy of my credit card.
I think laseredge just got a new costumer :-)

A little update Chris.

I decided to try Laser's $1.99 Adult Shipping.

They didn't have my entire order in stock, but the first two titles were shipped the next day.

Two days later the rest of the titles came in stock and were shipped. No extra charge, it's included in the $1.99.

The first package arrived 15 days later (counting Sundays), and the second three days after that.

The DVD's were shipped in an envelope padded with bubble plastic.
Both discs and cases were in perfect shape.

Huh!! count yourself lucky I have been waiting "SIX MONTHS"
for 3 backordered titles, and all I get from Lasersedge Is "do you wish to cancel"

I know Its not their fault, entirely but surely they could email me with updates and even suggest alternative titles.

and yes I have contacted Lasersedge by email, I seem to be stuck In Limboland.

Alternative title suggestions would be the last I'd want. There are 'horror stories' in this forum about shops not only suggesting but actually substituting titles without asking.
That sucks. That was one of the best things about DV-Depot, they consistently replied to their emails fast.

Hi Kperv. Thanks for the update.
I actually tried them too and it went great. Fast shipping, quick to arrive, and it went pretty fast. I chose UPS though.
I'm gonna be buying many of my future purchases here.
Did your packages arrive with postdanmark? And were the covers included?
Sorry to hear you had problems whitestar.

Yes, and yes. Lasers never broke the wrapping so they were all complete.
I'll propably order 1-3 titles at a time. That way they'll fit in my mailbox and should a shipment disappear in the future I'll still be saving a bundle in the long run. Lasers UPS shipping is hideously expensive.

yeah UPS is quite expensive, but I thought I'd go with that for the first purchase, my other purchases are probably gonna be smaller, so I might choose that shipping method too.
Were any of the discs scratched? It does seem like a somewhat risky long trip.

No scratches. Not on the discs nor on the boxes.
I guess you're worried about 'floaters'. I was too, but none of the discs had been shaken loose.

I've placed another order, but the titles are now on back-order. Feck.
They still list them as usually shipping in 1-3 days. Hope they get them in as quick at the previous order.

I'm not sure what you really expect to happen here, realistically. If the titles have been out of stock for 6 months then it generally means that
1) the title is out of print/stock at their suppliers.
2) the store lacks the minimum order for the wholesaler they get the <studio x> titles from.

As Kperv suggests, the last thing I'd want is suggestions for alternate titles. You know what you like best, and with resources like ADT and rame.net literally at your fingertips with thousands of reviews as well as the forums here for questions like "I really liked XYZ film/performer, what else is similar?" you're much much better off chossing yourself or with other pornfans' guidance then hoping suggestions (guesses) from a retailer that has no way of watching everything they stock.

As for updates.. well I assume you mean personalised emails now and then, but when there's little to say besides "sorry WHITESTAR we stoll don't have it in stock" there's little point, especially bearing in mind that Lasers Edge have thousands of customers for both mainstream and adult titles, something like this would take a lot of time assuming the number of titles that go in and out of stock.

My advice, if you feel you've been waiting too long for the titles, then just cancel them and order them from elsewhere. LE don't charge you till they ship anyway, so you're at no loss.

cheers,

scipio

I have had discs from Lasers Edge come loose in transit. For this reason I asked Marc to put a note on my account requesting that ALL dvds I oder (except for boxed sets) are removed from their cases and shipped (with artwork) in a little cd-envelope. Since then I've had no problems whatsoever with this. Problem solved!

Thanks for the replies.
Yeah I fear for what you call floaters, because is has happened before.
scipio, that might be an idea, but I also want the boxes, so I don't know.

Apart from Evolution's Butt-A-Bang and the Space Nuts box, all the other titles I've got are in standard sized cases.

With the price of cases of the same less-than-Amaray quality that most studios use, I chose the no cases shipment with my FiveStar order.

If you ever pop south of the border to grab some cheap beer or cola in Germany anyway, you might consider buying some cases there. Much cheaper than in DK.

Alternatively you could spend some big bucks on real Amaray cases. No other brand comes close IMHO.

It is only the case they remove. The cover jacket and any inserts are shipped with the disc.

I order 95% of my DVDs from Lasersedge. I've never, ever ever, had a problem. All packages are regualar packages, so there isn't a hint of whats inside them. Prices are good.

Good site. I love them!

Just not enough of a selection of gay/bi DVDs

I can get single DVD cases locally here in Melbourne Australia from anywhere between 30c each to $1.25.

I get the $1.25 cases since they're clear, good quality, and also have the "butterfly" type of clips that really lock the dvds in. If I wanted ones of the quality most porn studios use, then I'd be buying the 30c ones.

Also as KPerv said, they do send the cover/slick/artwork, just not the plastic DVD case it all goes in, and considering the value of the DVDs themselves, a few bucks for DVD cases is a drop in the bucket. IMO anyway.

cheers,

scipio
