Anyone having trouble getting the new QT update. Mine says it can't remove the old one. I've tried manually removing it a few times and still no luck.

Revo works pretty good, but my suggestion is to dump QT and switch to VLC player.

Hari, as Gomer Pyle would say..."shame, shame shame!" How dare you not use it! It's definitely in the top 3 softwares that should be on every pc. I assume you've seen my posts in the past recommending it to fellow ADT'ers. It has a great user-friendly GUI, has different levels of removal, and isn't a resource hog.
Since using Revo Uninstaller, my pc has increased performance. What I've done with several programs that have new versions is to use Revo and completely uninstall it using the Advanced setting. I always use that setting, but if anyone uses it make sure that if you get a message about skipping or leaving something there, that means that a mistake was made and something was not checked. Hit the back button and click the + sign of ones in bold and check all of the sub-directories until all the ones in bold are found.
I even went so far as to reinstall certain programs that I no longer use, and then uninstall it with Revo to remove all the left-over crap in my Regsitry. Take my word, it made a difference.
I have numerous family members and friends that were having issues with their computers and took my recommendation and were ecstatic with the results.
backdoorman, it seems as though you have some major issue going on with the uninstallation of programs on your computer. Have you tried Malwarebytes? Make sure it has the latest update. If you use it and it finds nothing, like another poster requested a while back, you may have to reinstall your OS.
I guess it can't hurt to try the Microsoft one Hari suggested, but I prefer Revo. You should also check Microsoft's website to see if there is an update that can fix that. It could be a corrupted Registry or .dll file that's causing it. Good luck!

I already had revo and ran the advanced uninstall. Seems to have gotten rid of qt. Now I can't get VLC to run video from my email without downloading it to my documents. QT always did this fine. It says I don't have a program associated with VLC but I do according to the list in the folder options panel. What in the fuck am I doing wrong ?
