Does anyone know of a free converter I can download to convert my downloaded quicktime clips to DVD format?

You probably won't find anything worth your time that's free. It seems like I tried to find something like this and failed.

Read my posts in this [invalid URL removed] earlier thread. Unclear what you mean by "DVD format". How are you wanting to playback the converted vids?

I'm not sure how to describe the format exactly - I just want to be able to play the videos on my DVD player rather than the pc. (Your other thread is interesting btw.)

You're probably better off getting something like the Western Digital WD HD Media Player to play "computer files" on your TV, rather than attempting to convert them to DVD.
Also, if you have any networked components attached to your TV (XBox, PS3, DirecTV DVR, etc...) you might want to consider downloading something like TVersity, which will allow you to manage your media on your PC and watch it on your TV.

With a PS3 already hooked up to the TV TVersity looks like the way to go. Thanks guys.

And until I get my head round TVersity I can just convert the files I really want to wmv, put them on a memory stick and use the ps3. Well done Bill for thinking beyond my DVD player.

Tversity's pretty easy to use. Just put the video files into directories that make sense to you and then go to the library tab in Tversity, click on "Add Item", select the first folder that you put the files into and click submit. The folder should show up in the tree. Do that for each folder.
There is a really good video guide on Tversity's site. Play the first video on the page.
