While the 45 minute rape scene is heartbreaking and every second is horrendous, this is one of my favourite movies because it doesn't eroticse rape like Hollywood films generally do. It's not pretty. It's not whack off material. It's raw and very real (without actually being real..).
Jumping off from what Pagoda has written, I think that the forced-sex fantasies of men are often rooted in a parallel psychology: We are drawn to the idea that we can, through [sheer] force [of will], transform our [seemingly] inhibited [and inhibiting] girlfriends and wives into the kind of sex-crazed maniacs that we know ourselves to be.

I do not believe that mainstream Hollywood eroticizes rape. I can not think of a movie were that is true. For one thing they probaly could not get such scene past the rating boards. Eroticism of rape is a porn thing.

The 70s 'classic' Defiance of Good by Armand Weston deals with rape and forced sex fantasies in an interesting way as well. In the film a young woman (Jean Jennings) is caught with drugs so her horrible parents send her to a institution for the mentally ill where she is gang raped by the staff. A doctor (played by Fred Lincoln of Last House on the Left fame) at the institution takes her home for some S&M 'training' where she at first is dominated but she slowly comes into her own sexually until there's a twist at the end. I thought this film did an excellent job of exploring some aspects of S&M and rape fantasy.
That's how the male POV is portrayed in women's erotica. The man is looking to meet his match, sexually. He also wants a woman that can accept his natural inclination to dominate, and not think ill of him for it. There's a fine line between an alpha-male and a bully. Many of the men in these stories have been hurt by past lovers that misunderstood their intentions.

Pagoda made some really good points. In response, it goes without saying that pornography is generally made neither for women, nor by women, and therefore is not expected to portary sex from a female perspective. Men and women view sex differently, period. Thus, when it comes to rape fantasy, men and women are also going to view it quite differently. Men and women fantasize about rape in the same way they fantasize about sex in general: Women will fantasize about it from a passive, romantic, passionate, and intimate perspective, whereas men will fantasize about it from an active, aggressive, and emotionally detached perspective. This is why erotica made for women in not at all the same as pornography produced for men. It is unfeasible for pornography, which is made for men, to attempt to portray rape from a female perspective. It would be the equaivalent of Max Hardcore writing a romance novel. The audience demographics are not the same and, therefore, it wouldn't make sense. Men don't care about internal monologue and sexual liberation, which is why those concepts are not needed in pornography. We just want to fuck. As for the rape fetish endangering pornography as a whole, I disagree. To the contrary, it would draw in those overlooked viewers who are interested in this fetish, but are presently unable to find it. After all, the European, Japanese, and Brazilian porn industries don't seem to be suffering from their rape content. As for those who criticize the producers and viewers of this type of content as misogynistic, porn has always had those types of critics, and probably always will. By continually trying to appease the mainstream, porn hasn't necessarily improved its product, but only contributed to an entire market full of bland, indistinguishable, and unoriginal material.
I saw that scene. I want to say the girl in the scene was Alexandra Quinn, but I'm not sure.
It still happens, but perhaps not so much now as it did back in the pre-PC days when it was quite common. Remember the scene in Gone With the Wind where Scarlett attempts to go up that famous staircase after an argument with Rhett. Although she resists him, he grabs her. As I recall, he says something along the lines of, "This is one night you won't turn me away." He then picks her up and carries up the stairs to the bedroom while she is seen fighting to escape. In the following scene, she awakes the next morning with a happy smile on her face. Of course, there is also the claim that it is impossible for a husband to rape his wife. So maybe that scene wouldn't count after all. Also, I'm sure that half the female characters on daytime soap operas have all been raped by a handsome soap stud at some point. Since these shows are watched almost entirely by women, it further lends to the prevalence of rape fantasy among women. Otherwise, rape storylines on soaps wouldn't be so common.

That fits into the fantasy that Pagoda so eloquently described. But it hardly is graphical representation of it. Since the action happens off screen, the viewer can make of it as they will. I would not consider it to be erotic. In fact as I think about it, had they shot a scene in the bedroom of Brett throwing her on the bed and ravishing her, it would never have gotten past the censors of the time.
Psychotic? How is listening to a woman's fantasy psychotic? I did write a story with this very theme in the Storytime section called "Hard Edge Role Play" from a man's perspective. Comments are welcome, I do enjoy writing and I would like to get my name off the last one posted board. Maybe my story sucks and I should enlighten the readers on certain aspects, maybe it needs more. Constructive criticism is also appreciated.

I guess it depends on what you consider pornography. I think a middle ground is possible, art (which admittedly very little of pornography even approaches) is partially about trying to imaginatively extend sympathy to those not like you. Pornography can make men appreciate elements of female sexuality, or sexuality that doesn't fall easily into those gender categories (i.e. perversion), and vice versa. Some S&M is about the fluidity of dominant and submissive roles.
I heartily agree. Plus, the rougher sex in regular gonzo porn already better depicts the ravishment/rape scenario in current women's fiction. Every romance novel I've read in the last year sounded like a Rocco Siffredi movie with a plot. Oh, and good call on Alexandra Quinn. The comp was called Best of Mason. I don't know what movie it's from originally though. Edited by - pagoda on 4/21/2009 4:23:54 AM
Mason's Dirty Trixxx 2. Please read Mike Lyons review. I was more into the Julie Night scene and the impromptu BJ w Manu in the back of the car in the BTS (in the "real" movie, which is still in my short stack of keepers). I didn't dig the dark lighting in the Quinn scene, personally, although the psychological element was something else. Is Manuel who he appears to be? Maybe there are less literal interpretations ... Hmmmm.
I'm sure I saw a scene once where Peter North had his face covered up playing an intruder and I think it was either Lisa Lipps or Lolo Ferrari (really don't remember) was taken a back. Wasn't really a rape or forced sex scene at all but the scenario was quite good.
Skronker, thank you for that link. I think the first two paragraphs of that review pretty much sums up a feeling I have in portraying rape/ravishment scenes in porn. Basically, people need to realize that any such scene is a performance. It may be a good one, it may be poorly performed, or anywhere in between or to the extremes. But as a performance it is no different than any other portrayal of sex or violence (or both) on film. It may be perceived by some viewers (perhaps even most viewers) as something terrible or awful or (insert emotional response here). But to take the very first lesson they teach in anger management 101, that is what the VIEWER brings to the scene with their own biases, background and life experiences. That has nothing to do with what the performers or director was portraying. I know a great many people who view the "Barely Legal" and teen-themed porn flicks as nothing more than thinly veiled pedophilia. I don't view it that way myself but I can see how they can draw those conclusions. Porn is what you make of it. I tend to view most of porn as a very poor portrayal of human sexuality. There are some exceptions, but in general, it is sexual arousal and whackoff material FOR ME. That isn't what I want it to be but it most often falls to that level. I'd love to see some porn that actually pulls me into the story and I don't mean "feature porn" which is still mainly a bunch of crappy dialogue to fill in the gaps between sex. Maybe I'm just wired differently. Or maybe I've just had too much good sex in my life to find much of what I see on porn adventuresome or titillating. Those are my own biases and I can't remove them from the porn watching experience any more than the next person. Pagoda, nice post by the way. If you've not yet furthered your goals of becoming a writer, you really should pursue them. Edited by - LubenLuv on 4/21/2009 2:28:36 PM
^^ Thank you. I'm working on it. Thanks to Skronk for the link to the review. This comment by MLyons struck me:
A lot of the good stuff on SexAndSubmission.com is about this. Women are physically forced to orgasm, often while being ordered not to. It's totally hot. It's the same premise of the old bodice-ripper romance novels. That's the whole point of them, to relieve the female character and reader of responsibility over her body. I like the current crop of contemporary fiction in which the woman starts out starts out sexually experienced, and in some cases she's an unabashed slut. But still, they all eventually roll back around to the idea of the women submitting to the men's sexuality, while discovering their own. And oddly, the arrogant alpha males have a fierce desire to protect and care for them. If they didn't, they wouldn't be romantic heroes. They'd just be assholes. A lot of them play on the classic beauty-and-the-beast fantasy and all that it entails. Other romantic heroes are practically incubi, and in some sub-genres, literally are. The whole, "He's so sexy, I can't help myself," idea is played out over and over again. Back to the rape-themed porn scenario, I think the OP was looking for something specific in rape scenes. That would be the portrayal of the woman's credible fear of the man/men throughout the scene. That's what lends authenticity to an outright rape scenario. Edited by - pagoda on 4/21/2009 3:00:23 PM
There's a difference between rape as an existential act (i.e., forcing someone to have sex) and the crime of rape as defined and enforced in various jurisdictions. As an existential act, rape can't be "defined" out of existence. That's not to say that all rapes are the same: context is always a defining characteristic. There are a variety of reasons that most jurisdictions will not prosecute a man for raping his wife. One is the [historical] notion that a wife is the husband's property. Another is that, for privacy reasons, courts are loath to interfere in the marital relationship except in cases of extreme physical violence. A third is that, as an evidentiary issue, the matter of establishing a lack of consent -- whether express or implied -- is too thorny in the context of cohabiting spouses.

It's not pretty. It's not whack off material. It's raw and very real (without actually being real..). But i beg to differ, for someone who enjoys that sort of thing it is whack fodder. I often play it back frame by frame so that i can enjoy every bit of the victims'discomfort. The longer it goes on the more uncomfortable someone would be in that situation and the more it turns me on.To each his own. I also enjoy a lot of fish-hooking and gagging(with tears of course)not to mention rough anal and scenes where the man plants his foot on the girls head while he plows her. I believe it's ok to find pleasure in the pain of others be it real or portrayed If it ain't rough? It ain't right
So is that the sort of thing one should expect around here?To be called names, when they express an opinion in a thread on topic? I suppose you enjoy porn where the woman straps on a dildo and lets the guy have it....
Not really, but name calling is not necessary. This thread is about rough sex scenes and scenes that portray discomfort have always piqued my interest. I enjoy the MEATHOLES site as well.To watch those guys push a girl past her breaking point REALLY does it for me...They have pushed their actresses to tears so often that it is obvious that a lot of what goes on there is REAL discomfort...
Hye I'm a girl and i LOVE this fantasy. But yeah. First off...i feel like the FBI is watching me if i download any. and all the ones i have seen are Russian...adn the guys are too wimpy looking and the weather there is so cold everyone is so bundled up. I dont' like the Japanese rape vids or anime vids cause I'm just not into asian guys :( The brazillian ones ive seen are hot though. But yeah...id love to see an english language one. There is a movie called Little Orphan Dusty that is old and it has a rape scene and its kind of hot. So does an old movie called Gangbang. which is from the 80s. Kink.com has good rough sex but i am not into the props in SM videos. I dont like the chains and whips. The leather. The latex. I like sado masochistic sex but without all the costumes and props. Anyways. If anyone can recommend me videos with rape scenes where the guy is attractive as opposed to videos of old fat men pretend raping russian girls that would be cool. Also...i dont know why this is illegal. Because its a common fantasy. i think if its well done and done under the right supervision it shouild be allowed. whenever you ban something you just create a black market for it.

Yikes, my posts are disturbing? I haven't edited any of my previous posts. I even stated that the fantasies of women are consensual, in hindsight I view their fantasies as "ravish" fantasies and not so much rape. I got into this whole rape thing cuz my ex wife wanted me to "rape" her. How the hell can a woman's husband "rape" her? It was her fantasy, not mine. I played along, did the research. While doing my research I happened to come across a fair amount of women who wanted to be a mans fucktoy. They felt neglected sexually and emotionally, to the point where they wanted somebody to just want them. They were happy with their life in the vanilla sense, but lacked someone to talk to and lacked sexual attention. They didn't feel like they were desired or wanted, in their own fantasy they wanted to be wanted so bad that somebody would take them by force. Someone to take them away from their mundane life and just fuck them out of pure animal desire, because they found them attractive, because they wanted to be with them sexually and not just passing the time. So I am curious as to how you find my previous posts disturbing.
I had a fling with a woman last year , her favorite fantasy we acted out was to be tied up and blindfolded , and to be spanked and fucked as hard as possible . It was strictly fantasy , we had a safe word if I ventured somewhere she didn't want to go . Fantasy is okay , IF it's just that .
Yeah, I read it again because this thread got dredged back up again, and I think it was the way you phrased it. I don't think what you just explained is reflected that well in your original post. Clearly others felt the same way, as evidenced in their responses. I found your original post quite creepy. Your subsequent explanations make more sense and are less so.

Just throwing this out there. Here is a guy who has three posts and is asking for rape videos and sites. Does it occur to anyone, and I'm not saying he is, but what if he works for the DOJ? Whether you think it is or should or should not be legal is not the question, what if the DOJ thinks they can make a case and you are just fueling the fire? Please don't call me paranoid, because they have prosecuted this before, and won. It also seems to be very funny that he posted once and never posted again in this thread. There is one good Russian/European site called RipHerUp.com. I'm not sure if it's intended to be a "rape" site, per se. It's mainly just guys ripping the girls' clothes off while fucking them. But the girls do appear to be mostly resistant. Plus, the girls on there are really hot, and do anal. I agree that there are some good Brazilian ones too. The Brasileirinhas Violadas series is one good example. I do also like a lot of the Japanese hentai. I'm not big on Japanese animation. But when it comes to animated porn and the rape scenes contained in them, no one can hold a candle to them.
Porn from the 1970s and 1980s was before my porn-watching time. But from what I understand, that was the period to be in if you wanted to see well-acted rape/forced sex scenes in porn. Apparently, there wasn't as much of a politically-correct attitude applied to porn back then as there is today.
Going back to the 1980s, one of the first porn movies I remember seeing in my life was a movie called Savage Fury, starring Christy Canyon and Peter North, among others. I wasn't even old enough to be watching porn when I first saw this. I had no idea what it was about before I snuck it out of my father's hidden porn stash and put it in the VCR one day. I just knew that it was probably a dirty movie, and wanted to see what it was. Suffice it to say that nobody makes porn like that anymore. This movie had everything- rape, violence, muder, blood. I don't remember most of the other movies that I saw in my father's stash. I couldn't tell you the titles, or who were in them. But I definitely still remember that one. To this day, I haven't seen another porn movie that contains the violent acts that were in that movie. Nowadays, porn is adverse to showing things like violence and blood in a sex scene. But that obviously wasn't the case back then. I was so fascinated by that movie that I watched it straight from beginning to end. To summarize it, a group of guys approach a group of college girls they see walking by. The girls rebuff the guys and insult them. The guys promise revenge. Then, late at night, the guys break into the girls' dorm room while they are all asleep and violently rape them. In the next scene, some time has passed since the rape, and the girls have spotted the guys out somewhere and decide to exact revenge on them. The girls plan to seduce the guys, and then kill them. The plan works. After another scene takes place between the same group of guys and girls, the girls unleash gunfire from automatic weapons upon the guys, leaving all the guys lying dead in pools of their own blood. Again, you won't find stuff like this in any porn made today.
It's not illegal. But you're right that it is taboo enough to the point that nobody does it. There are reasons for why today's mainstream porn is afraid to go there (e.g., not wanting to attract more controversy from porn opponents, increased risks of being targeted for a possible obscenity hunt, just plain lack of interest in pushing the envelope, etc.). But it's not because it's illegal. As I've said before, if it were illegal, then every single major Hollywood studio would be charged with a crime, since they have all portrayed rape in their movies. Ironically, porn is the only genre where exploring this fantasy is considered somehow wrong. Edited by - realtip on 4/2/2011 7:38:03 AM

Corina Taylor in Cum Drippers 6. She claimed Eric Everhard ass raped her. There was even some discussion in a topic here in 2004. During the scene, he talks her into anal and he supposedly fucks her ass for the first time. She is really uncomfortable and her head is really red.
Acording to iafd , Savage Fury not available to buy anywhere . I also can't find it on any of the VOD sites I use , but have seen clips on the tube sites . Was it ever released on dvd? -------------------------------

That site has many of the hottest and biggest in porn appearing in quasi-forced sex scenes, which really contradicts the notion that porn girls aren't up for performing these types of scenes. It's the best site on their whole network. But apparently, even they're having problems now. Some of the episodes have been removed from the site, or highly-censored.

It's not illegal, but nobody wants to take a chance fucking around with it. Personally I wish some producer had the balls to risk his livlihood and just do a straight up rape scene. No consenting...no joy or pleasure. Just some hapless runaway getting her ass pounded into next week while she screams her head off. But seriously, how do you pull the self-righteous indignation routine when you regularly post to a porn forum??? I mean it makes the whole "omg! what a disturbing thread!" bit seem a little disingenous. News Flash: Men have rape fantasies. Women have rape fantasies. It's pretty fucking common, so just unclench already. If you happen to only have sexual fantasies that involve tender and nurturing relationships between consenting adults... great. Just please never direct a porn scene.
I personally don't judge people who have rape fantasies (as long as they're only fantasies). It's not really disingenuous for some people to be disturbed by it. If it bothers them, it bothers them. They're free to say so. Having a sex drive and a proclivity for masturbation doesn't mean the individual isn't going to have issues with other people's sexuality. We see it every other day on ADT. No matter what you like, somebody thinks it's sick or strange or gay or insensitive or evil or whatever. You have to expect if you show up anywhere talking about being turned on by rape, someone is going to have a problem with it. Furthermore....
People have all kinds of fantasies. Some are more socially acceptable than others. That's just how it is. People who post here like porn and care about it's future. The simple fact of the matter is that if you care about the future of porn and our right to watch it, you have to understand that there are things that they just can't afford to produce. Anyone who does isn't just taking a big risk. They're standing on railroad tracks. It's a matter of time. They could make realistic fake rape (Maybe somebody does. I don't know) but it would be a train wreck. The problem with this kind of thing is that whenever anyone in the porn industry starts making porn that even comes close to leaving the question of consent open, a whole lot of people will assume the worst. And when the shit hits the fan, it won't just hit the fan for that director or studio or whatever. When it goes on the national news, the whole thing will be blamed on porn as a whole and it's customers. It's no problem for them to make a porn scene depicting a couple of people meeting in the store and going back to her place to fuck. But you essentially can't do fiction in porn if it depicts something dark. You see people getting (fake) shot on TV every day. Many times a day, even. How often do you see fake shootings in porn? They don't even go near it for the sake of building a story or making it more entertaining. Because some idiot somewhere is going to see it and assume it must be real because it looks real. And the last thing the porn biz needs is to have to defend their storylines along with having to defend the fact that it's porn in the first place. Porn movies are not like regular Hollywood movies. People trust Hollywood to make movies about serial killers without killing people. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, people don't trust the porn biz. Edited by - randomprecision on 3/30/2011 3:31:15 PM
Well it's the "for whatever reason" that's the problem. You can a put a gratuitous rape scene in a mainstream movie, not to mention a whole heap of killing, and no one worries about the AG going after Hollywood, 'cuz everyone will scream censorship and slap the 1st amendment on their ass. But the feds can harass the adult industry with impunity 'cuz they know A) you can always score easy political points with the family values crowd by going after the porn biz... and B) they know full well that there will never be a popular outcry in support of porn. It doesn't matter that the adult industry is protected by the same 1st amendment... OR that these same Americans spend umpteen kajillion dollars on porn every year. People will just look the other way, because nobody wants to be seen fighting for the rights of "those pople". So the lesson is, as long as it's in a movie with "serious artistic merit", anything goes. But if it appeals to the "prurient interest" of the audience... that is to say, if it's presented as stroke material... it's no longer art, but obscenity. Which begs the question, what the fuck is the purpose of the 1st amendment, if not to protect speech that most of us would consider obscene???

A gratuitous rape scene in a Hollywood movie? That hasn't happened since the 70s, you'd be extremely lucky to get a gratuitous sex scene period in a modern Hollywood movie, even nudity has become a real rarity in anything coming out of Hollywood.
Cripes, Irreversible had a 9 minute rape scene. It wasn't outta Hollywood, but still mainstream. But you're right... mainstream Hollywood has avoided anything sexual since the stakes have gotten higher. But that's nothing but good business. An R rating means no teen box office dollars. So the resultant increase in film violence has filled the void. [ It's comforting to know that parents will let their kids watch a crowd getting sprayed with bullets... but penii and vaginas just lead to too many awkward questions lol. ] But my point isn't that Hollywood films are filled with rape or sex. Rather the double standard that's applied to content produced for the sake of "art" vs that produced as "pornography". If a Lifetime movie features a rape scene [ and some certainly do ], no one calls it obscene because we recognize the intent is dramatic, not titillation. But our response to exactly the same content within the context of pornography is different. So when porn is labeled "obscene", it's not because the content is strictly obscene. But rather the intent is obscene. And therefore, because obscenity is defined not so much by what it IS, than by what it DOES [ and Potter Stewart said as much in Miller v. California ]... it leaves an enormous loophole by which nearly anything could be labeled as obscene, and likewise censored. I recognize the practical reasons for the industry to avoid controversial content. But that doesn't change the fact that anti-obscenity laws in this country are based on grotesque hypocrisy.

As you say, Irreversible was not made in Hollywood, it never could be. I didn't realize that foreign language arthouse films are now mainstream, that seems to be stretching the definition to the breaking point.

As for the obscenity laws in the US, they are patently absurd, but there's no suggestion that they will be overturned anytime, particularly with the current Supreme Court.
