Absolutely true. Always good to get a bit more insight. Bottom line if it brings it to the mainstream then MAYBE it will become less taboo. Rock or rap - we can only hope.

Yes, a few things that appear taboo now will be accepted into the mainstream in the future. There was a time when a lady could not show her ankles or calfs in public.

****

By the way, has any of those video girls in the booty shaking, late-night rap videos ever crossed into porno??

That spanish blonde in the BIG PIMPIN VIDEO comes to mind.

I think it helps more than hinders. I think its great that rappers are coming on board as now we'll have some good scenes with great hardcore music.

Porn and rap:- Good bed partners.

it would help sales if the rappers do some sex scenes themselves. it would certainly drive up the curiousity factor.

Porn and Rap have the same enemy. The are despised by the same people so they go together. Lil' Jon said that to him it was a way of saying to his long time fans that even with his success he's still the same guy and still like the same things he did before, just like them. Personally though i'm not a fan and i don't real see rap as a huge cross over from porn in terms of class (they're both considered pretty low class by most people).

I saw this prog. on Monday called 'Hip Hop Nights' on UK C4, basically all about hip hop porn. C4 are really pushing the rules, they basically showed clips with Japanese style censoring.

Anyway, here's a quick summary and I've got a couple of questions, but you really don’t need to have seen the prog. to be able to comment

One segment was a shoot in a hotel in LA and the camera guy/director is this chap DJ Yella. Even he was surprised, cos at one point he asked the cameraman if C4 can shows tits. The cameraman just turned the camera 90 degrees onto a nekkid Angel Eyes! She had been there a little while (on time!) then Wesley Pipes arrived. He seemed quite cool, had a shower and a smoke. It was a bit embarrassing though cos he couldn't get wood, and DJ Yella was trying not to laugh!

I wonder, if a scene is shot at a hotel, is the Manager informed? Have you ever been challenged wandering through the lobby with a load of equipment? Do you use the hotel photocopier to make copied of IDs

The next segment was about Snoop Dog, 50 Cent, Ice T et all. Ice T was interviewed, the other two were just clips of their work . There were so many industry people in this and to be honest I hardly recognise any that work behind the camera. There was one guy that got the wrong day, or he was going to football training and got called in at the last minute! I remember they interviewed a guy from Video Team, a guy from Playboy and how can I forget, the obligatory comment from Ron Jeremy. This dude must be doing full time documentaries!

Anyway, on to India

There was a great crib style interview with her at home, trying to be normal, taking stuff out of the oven, you get my drift. She’s really nice! They showed photos of her as a kid and talked about the church that she attends 6 days a week. Maybe she does her scenes on her day off! She had to do the usual justification thing, along the lines of it was her choice to go into the biz, she loves fucking, you get the drift. They also showed India in a recording studio working on her album and she's about to go mainstream.

She was mentoring a newbie. If you saw it, can you remember her name? I just remember that she was 22y and her first scene that they showed was with 2 other girls. Damn!

Still here?

They said Doggie Style was the biggest selling Adult flick ever, so I guess there is a market. The guy at Video Team, I'm 99% sure he was CEO, say that they are currently talking to a mainstream artist, that it going to do porn. Not just another Snoop Dog, or 50 cent, but a mainstream artist who is actually going to drop their pants. He made a point of saying that it could be a man or a woman. Is this old gossip?

Who is it

I saw the doc too Robbie. I thought it was pretty decent. I think the new black girl's second name was "ann" but i'm not sure. The video team guy was the president of Video Team Christian Mann (i thought he was a beasty boy at first). India and Angel Eyes were super hot!
I would say though that as with just about every mainstream porn doc, the makers try to make out that whoever they're talking to are the biggest producers in the industry when they weren't at all.
Also, did you notice the really short teaser ad for a "channel 4 adult channel"?

Tinaka – the girls were hot! Especially India. Paging Hardware!

They didn't say, but I get the impression that she is done with porn and is also mainstream.

I'm glad that C4 feel that they can show this stuff now with the censor blur thing. A while back all they would do is show peoples heads!

I missed the ad, when was it before or after?

I got the impression that although India would drop porn if the music was successful she wasn't gonna be like those who've tried to cross over before. I think she is trying to appeal to the rap-porn audience.

Channel 4 were always the most radical channel showing stuff no one else would- their old soap Brookside had it all. the often would show films banned by the BBFC and are the only channel to show real sex on terrestrial TV.

The ad was on one of the breaks, very short, it just flashed up much like how they advertise Big Brotehr weeks before it starts. Of course it'll be shit but all good i'd say.

edit: I just did a search and it seems the "adult channel" is a con. Just a boring adults channel- documentaries and stuff. "More4" i think it's called.

Rappers should stick to rap. They are infamous when it comes to exploiting young naive girls in their video clips.
(now that i've written that it kinda sounds a little hippocritcal)
But i think you know what i mean. Rappers surround themselves with 'booty' in their video clips because they no if they were famous their ugly asses wouldn't have a shit show in hell of pulling decent girls.
Leave Porn to the Porners (thats what i like)
Rappers keep to rapping, and keep it out of porn.

I think rap and porn is just an extentsion of reality.

I mean just go to any hip hop club in a major city and all you see is hot scantily clad women grindin on the brothas.

So the rap videos and the rap/porn connection is just a reflection of reality.

Is it really differant than the rock/porn relationship that has always existed since day one?.

Its just that the black rappers were smart enogh to cash in on it
