Some long active porn artists take several breaks in their career. There was one retirement several years back where she seemed pissed off she wasn't getting booked. She mentioned ageism and having to play Mom-Son scenarios which she did not like and so on. It seemed like she was torching the industry, That itself is not odd with some retiring porn actresses taking shots at the industry. I guess it's odd that she is back though. There is certainly ageism in porn. I don't think anyone would expect otherwise, but it must be hard for a well-known performer who wants to still shoot a lot of scenes.
