A: There's no pulling the Kleenex over your eyes. Yes, they are fake. The women are actors who apply for the job, then improvise their dialogue. Frankly we're surprised by their talent: Many are almost convincing as random women who accept an invitation from three drooling strangers-one of whom is peering through a camcorder-to climb into a van with tinted windows. Producers for these types of sites typically recruit swingers, strippers and the underemployed and pay upwards of $700 for an hour of coy conversation and sex. This past November, in a sweeps-week expose, WPLG-TV in Miami revealed that " the women [of Bang Bus] are actually paid performers, and the incidents are all set up in advance." Stop the presses! The station even took a videotape to the police to see if any laws had been broken, but the cops said none had. WPLG, you are officially no fun.

OK, I have a question of my own. Why do they call it 'reality porn'? Do they doubt the porn part as well as well as the 'reality' part?

As far as I can tell, many of the Shane's World episodes are far more real than mainstream reality TV shows: guys losing erections, guys with small penises, guys acting like total assholes.
But occasionally you get the guy who is obviously nervous/self-conscious about being on camera, but still can get hard, bang the girl, blow his nuts, and look like his dreams were answered.
Mainstream reality TV shows are to some extent scripted, perhaps as authentic as a professional wrestling league (oh, like the WWE). The several situations in the original season of Survivor came under scrutiny and one of the producers blurted out that it was totally set up; he got some heat from that admission, but that's the standard M.O.

I don't think anything that is being shot with the intent of selling it can be truly REAL. You are selling a product and it is in your best interest to put your best foot forward. Make-up, hair, lights, they are all used to enhance the product in some way, even if it is to make it look more REAL. When in fact the only reality is that everyone is gettig paid to pretend.
But I would agree, of the reality based series out there, Shanes World is doing it well. Would love to see that formula taken out of the 'college" demo and into the mainstream.
I would also consider the Shane's World to be Reality Porn. As far as Bang Bus, even a non-subscriber like me has spotted some fairly recognizable actresses there just in the trailers. Does anyone really think that all women run around in thongs with perfectly trimmed snatches? Maybe on a special occasion I do!
The typical gonzo IMHO looks like a documentary about the typical day of a BurgerDonald employee financed by the managerial board of BurgerDonald to show the happiness of their employees.
Make an interview how excited they are about having the opportunity to work for BurgerDonald, praising the classy work environment and uniforms BurgerDonald provides them and that nothing, really nothing, makes them more happy than to produce tasty burgers for the customers.
Then show them at work and interview them during work and let the empoyees tell the camera that there is nothing greater in this world than making tasty burgers and how fulfilling it is to mke burgers and french fries day in day out.
After work show them removing the fat and whatever comes onto hair and body when manipulating french fries and burgers and let them tell the camera how good it is to work for BurgerDonald and that they can't wait to get up next morning to produce even more of those tasty burgers and serve the esteemed customers.
Hm, me thinks I am in a disillusionist mood today.

Shane's World titles are all reality, especially the College Invasion series. The guys are just regular college guys, and so are the college girls. Anything that happens is happening for real, and we're just there to catch it on camera. These guys really do lose their wood, or can't get up, or get nervous and can't pop. Nicole, what I don't get about such series (as a fan of the SW College Invasion series - a friend even goes to IU in Bloomington!),...but how is STD-testing conducted? I thought this was a prereq for the industry, esp. people who aren't immediately related to the industry?

Well i dont know if this is to much of what you are looking for but adam & Eve recently teamed up with the original creators of Star search and did a reality show called (reality X the search for Adam & eve) in witch we casted in 5 diffrent cities looking for people who tought they had what it got to be the next big Porn Star. And we finally finish shooting it last week and it was fucking great. Hi Eric, Everyone that has sex in our movies has been tested. However, not all the guys who get tested hook up with our porn stars. It depends on who wins the contests the day of the invasion. We follow all the legal rules, but it's still very much up to chance.
But reality how? You can't just pick up anyone from the street and film them fucking, you need a legal ID that they are of legal age, signature on a paper. So the more "reality porn" I would think of, is not Bangbus, but more checking all the papers, then having an interview like theme on a sofa or bed.

I would definetely agree that gonzo, is the closest thing to reality porn, because the starlet makes it aware that she knows she is being documented. Thats the whole reason, i got into gonzo and ditched the plot porn side of the industry, unless its a john stagliano piece of course.
I did a couple of those "reality sites" they do use porn stars obviously, but we don't wear all of the cake makeup and they actually drop us off in public then come by and hit on us. Most of the dialog is made up last minute. It has a real feel to it. And in Bangbus, we are really truly going down the freeway fucking in a van with cars passing. I had to duck a couple of times because a truck came by. That was real for me.
