I'm curious about the extremely low production output in movies over the last year. Is this because of the economy? Digital Sin, Zero Tolerance, 3rd Degree, Anabolic, Evil Angel, etc. were each putting out several movies a month over the last 4-5 years. Now they're lucky if they put one movie out every three months.
Sounds a bit on the low side, and I think its pretty safe to say that it is because of the economy. Ideally I think the companies should put out a lot fewer titles than they have in recent years. Improve the scenes by better editing, better surroundings, better prepared and more healthy girls, and male talent that have a chance of building up better cumshots.
We are on the exact same release schedule that we have been on since the companies inception; 1 new release a week. Every other month we throw in a comp. That means we typically release 10 or 11 new movies in a three month period. I don't know where you get the impression that we release less than that.
I think the poster meant in general, obviously he should not have named your company. I think releases in video are down as most porn producers adjust to the new economy and the fact that most sales are now over the internet. I think if you count internet releases, production hasn't decreased much -- just DVD releases. In the case of Evil Angel (I think -- anyway John Stagilano's company) production has likely screeched to a near halt as the government has (likely) seized and court ordered away any way for him to make adult movies (ask Tricia Deveraux to be sure).
This isn't true at all. All you needed to do was go to evilangel.com to see that. They release a few movies a week, it seems. I don't know about all the companies in the OP, but most of them seem to be putting out as much as ever, if not more. Reason for low input into thought behind this thread?
I wasn't absolutely sure, that is why I said "likely". I would be surprised if production hasn't suffered as more resources go into fighting these baseless criminal charges. I am glad to hear that John and Tricia can still make a living at this point, but this has to have changed the content they put out -- at least until they are exonerated! I do know they put out a comp DVD to raise funds for the defense, but only remember Tricia mentioning a couple of releases since joining the chat board last month -- not a few a week as you say, and I do monitor the press release section. As for the OP, evidently he feels that content has decreased. I had not noticed so much, but with the economy the way it is, the production companies are bound to cut somewhere -- and that includes the amount of movies produced.
^As I said above, we aren't even discussing net only releases, those are skyrocketing in number as more companies switch at least partially to it. Edited by - mharris127 on 9/15/2009 9:05:41 AM
