| timotei Member UK 271 Posts 4/02 | Anyone been having slow delivery times to the UK over the last week or so?? I've got one order with Lasers Edge (in the US) and one from XoDVD (ship from Netherlands) that were both shipped last Thursday 16th and neither have arrived at my house (Brighton England). Usually Lasers Edge deliveries take around 3-4 days to get here, so this is dragging on a bit... [Link] |

Is this because US-to-Europe post flies into Germany first, then out to the final destination? The other package, from XoDVD in the Netherlands, was postmarked 16th Jan and arrived at my house on 25th Jan, which is quite suprisingly long, as packages from EroDVD in the Netherlands don't usually take that long. Obviously these delivery times are not a reflection of the companies that sent the packages. |

I guess bulk shipment of mail to Frankfurt and then sorting and delivery within Europe is a cheaper way of sending it, rather than sorting for numerous e.g. UK destinations and sending out numerous transatlantic flights. |

There are several members in this forum whose shipments (not only from lasersedge also fivestar, excalibur and so on) were also seized in Frankfurt. So I can't understand why lasersedge should ship via Frankfurt to UK. The cheapest shipping method is senseless when the method itself doesn't work relieably. |

This method makes perfect sense - Laser's Edge don't choose to ship via Frankfurt, it's down to the USPS. I've had some shipments come via Copenhagen from other vendors too. |

As I remember these were stamped in the Netherlands. Maybe thats why they go to Frankfurt now. Today I received a package from www.futureent.com It is UK based and send anywhere free of charge. The package was sent from North America and took 20 days! The original order was 2 items. The first only took 6-7 days. So I guess it can vary considerably |
