Despite all the money that went into Gladiator series, they're no better than any of their previous releases, and are only saved by Rita Faltoyano's fantastic tits.

My main gripe with Private, despite being a long-time fan, is David Perry: is this guy an asshole or what. If Steve Holmes wasn't ugly and scrawny enough to turn most women off, we have to deal with Perry acting like a retard. It's even worse when they don't bother to dub him and we have to listen his predictable accent ridden bullshit.

Your valid opinion of Private notwithstanding (I have to wholly agree about the Gladiator series... what a complete waste of money. :), I don't see the need for such strong and seemingly personal attacks against David Perry and Steve Holmes. Steve for one is a regular contributor here. Would you say these things to David Perry's face? You're entitled not to like these performers, and you're certainly entitled to say, in this forum, that you don't like watching them for whatever reason, but let's just ease back and remember that some of them are members too, and we like having both you and them around.

On the American front, the deal with Michael Ninn has been quite disappointing. They hired Jodie Moore mostly to do promotion, and I'm fairly certain that Jodie's fans feel very frustrated.

On the Euro front, they chose Gianfranco Romagnoli (who's a big shot agent and a producer/director) to do all the hard work. He ghost-directs for Adamo and Del Mar, assembles the casts, shoots a myriad of vignettes.
In the new Xtreme, Calling A Gigolo , he also acts but, for some reason, his name doesn't appear anywhere in the credits.

My main complaint though, is with their very customer-unfriendly policy.
The new labels are confusing, the covers are undistinguishable. The new Private Shop, as flashy as it looks, is badly designed and it's really complicated to find stuff.

Most of all, I miss Roger/PrivateDVD's monthly updates of their new releases. A different era and a different way to deal with their customers and fans.

I am extremely disappointed in Private now. Spando, they lost me when they let Pierre Woodman go. I think Kovi and Adamo's style is very, very by the numbers formulaic sex. And I can't for the life of me see what's REAL about "Reality"?!?! These 2 directors exhibit no feeling for sex it looks like they do it just for the money. (To me) Dreary and completely devoid of heat or any passion whatsoever. Just a load of pretentiousness. I am particularly disappointed because I used to crave with lust after the next XXX, Triple X, and Pirate ect. Now the only thing worth watching from them is Private castings...

They are using the same girls now over and over again :(

All the pans up to the guys face (I'm not gay don't & want to see the guy making funny faces) They should be on their knees to Pierre Woodman begging him to come back of find someone new like him and quick who brings us new girls. He brought us new beautiful fresh natural looking girls all the time and although his scenes look a little over controlled "of late" by that I mean the men he chooses to perform tend not to exhibit much lust after the girls.

Private please listen! Please! Wake up or I think you are toast. Get back to what you did before, what made you the biggest and best!!! What you did before with the XXX's and the Triple X Pirate. Get intouch with your former viewers who made you big and stop all this silly pretentious tinkering around and find your focus again. I suspect the ground swell of opinion is with me on this and I feel strongly about this because you WERE the best. Look at them now...:( I miss the Private that was. Please come back to me.

I would have to personally agree with your analysis in general. I haven't watched too much of Private's most recent stuff precisely because of the stuff I've seen from Adamo and the trailers I've seen lately. I call it the difference between the first age (Pierre Woodman, Frank Thring, etc.) and the second age (Adamo, et al) of Private. I prefer the first age much more--but I think that people like Aybease might prefer the second. I imagine that in some strange way with their more formulaic and quite yuppy attitude in the second age that they are probably reaching a broader audience. Maybe there's still room, though, for them to bring back some of that less slick, more human rawness that really propelled them to greatness in the first place. I don't know. With the direction they're moving in, I just don't see it happening. You never know though. :)

To be fair though, I haven't seen a whole lot of their recent stuff, but I've seen enough to know that I'm not too excited about running out and getting it. I am on a Tanya Hyde kick right now though, but she(?) has long since departed from Private.

Diesel's article was a joy to read, particularly as it seemed to justify my own tastes. (And he favors Blake too: how perfect!)

And to our resident expert on the subject, SbandoBoy: we always hurt the one we most love. I have no doubt that Mr Prast was brought in to make the shareholders happy, but last time I checked the hemorrhaging hasn't stopped (under $2 and dropping!) I never thought I'd miss Milton Jr at the helm. No news for 3 months: I think there is serious cause for alarm. Pray that PrivateDVD comes back here to explain/reassure. Have you noticed that Private Shop's available catalogue (even of the DVD's) is incredibly sparse? Only one of the Virtualia's, for example. I wonder what's going on.

Kovi has made some nice little movies, from Indiana Mack on. Light-hearted and pretty well crafted. He also has a great stable of girls, although I still don't understand why someone would want to hide Maya's beautiful face behind
a Kiss make-up.

Adamo is a very professional film-maker and a master videographer. I'm sure that my friends here will appreciate his Cleopatra.

The new Private Shop is a mess. Broken links stay broken for a week and it took them a month to add a nav bar, so that people could actually navigate the site.

I don't know if you're familiar with the tv series Angel, but Prast and his New Economics attitude remind me of Angel's "Wolfram & Hart".

photo sets are not that great, pictures are small and only a few sets have bloated versions of the original pics.
The only redeeming value is the magazine archive, although they never upgraded from the original mediocre scans to better versions as promised a long time ago.

Stuff I'm buying now are Hustler (blessed be Woodman - he's made their XXX series although the film looks shit half the time, and I'm going wherever Superfuckers are!), Red Light District (THAT is how to use video for porn), Anabolic and whatever company does the Killer Pussy line. That said, Michelle Wild keeps me trying Private, but the return seems weaker each time. Perhaps I should become a shareholder - any of them here?

This has not been a great discussion. I posted this thread because I thought that the last wave of releases from Private had been very strong. Since then, the thread has been hijacked to whine about Woodman leaving Private... again!

Get over it guys. I personally like Private a lot better since Woodman left. The women are hotter, the production values are higher, and the product costs less.

I don't have a problem if you guys worship Woodman, but don't hijack my thread and then celebrate about how great this discussion is.
