I wish that you had asked about this when you were buying the drive. You could have gotten a copy of Nero Essentials from Meritline, bundled with your DVD Burner for only $1 more than it cost for the drive alone. If you want it, you can still get a copy of Nero Essentials from Meritline for $3.99 (I don't know what they would charge for shipping).

Silly me, I thought CD burning was the same as DVD burning.[Link] Harri Patel Senior Member #SDNY he's all yours. -- Michael Steele 5110 Posts 3/03 Posted - Apr 22 2007 : 3:25AM
I don't think that $1.99 OEM crippled Nero lets you do a lot, anyway. You have to pay for the real version if you want full functionality.[Link] jayo All-Star Member 2117 Posts 7/04 Posted - Apr 22 2007 : 2:04PM
I use Nero, but I paid retail for it.[Link] nietzsche Deactivated User 5470 Posts 8/03 Posted - Apr 22 2007 : 2:11PM
I'm trying to burn some shit to DVD, but it won't let me. Does it have to be a "DVD format" to burn? I thought you could burn anything, eg data[Link] Drew Black broken crankshaft 8009 Posts 9/99 Posted - Apr 22 2007 : 3:26PM

ImgBurn burns disc images (hence the name). You can use it to burn data, but it's a two-step process. First, you have to build the .iso (image), which you do by going to Mode --> Build. After you do that, you go to Mode --> Write to burn the image you just created. The advantage of using Nero is that it sort of combines the two steps - you just select the data files you want, then tell it to burn a disc.
