Ok, so I had to go and ruin it. Watching Fashionistas has raised the bar so high, that everything else pales in compairison. My husband and I loved everything about the film. If you loved Fashionistas too, what would you recommend?
While FASHIONISTAS isn't the most expensive porn movie ever made, it might be the most expensive ever made with no thought to the needs of cable distribution. On that score alone, it's unlikely to be equalled until the economic rules governing porn distirbution change. Even if Bush isn't re-elected, I don't think this will happen anytime soon.
Add to that the fact that FASHIONISTAS is clearly a labor of love from a man who has literally given his life to porn. Who besides John Stagliano would have to the courage to so completely expose himself though his work, and the the audacity to back it up with hundreds of thousands of dollars?
That's it, you're done. No more porn for you. Needle point makes a nice hobby.
Not the same but maybe something from Christoph Clark's "Hardball" series, which offers a mix of hot girls, sexy costumes, sleek Euro studs and glitzy locations with some bondage/fetish theme elements and very hard sex. It lacks the dramatic aspect however, and that's what was so excellent about "Fashionistas" in addition to everything else.
Maybe go back to some earlier Stagliano: The two-part "FaceDance," from the early '90s, is first-rate, and features Rocco as well as scenarios and themes NOT to dissimilar from "Fashionistas." In a psychological sense, it's a bit of a precursor.
On a different tangent, John Leslie's "Fresh Meat ... A Ghost Story" and "Dogwalker" both combine feature elements with crafty filmmaking and gonzo sex. If you wanna step a little further into madness, "Drop Sex ... Wipe the Floor!" from Leslie works an even less coherent scenario into some truly erotic hardcore.
Lastly, check out some Joey Silvera -- there's almost too many great ones to name.
I realize from what I have read here that this is it. Now I have to back track and find other interesting titles. We liked Xtreme Desires from Private. The new Bella Loves Jenna looks interesting too. Mason's films are on my list. There has to be a few others....right???
You might check out Violet Blue's site Tiny Nibbles. She's a San Francisco sex writter and educator, as well as working for Good Vibrations.
She has a decidedly Bay Area, sex-positive point of view. But make no mistake, she loves hardcore porn – the raunchier and nastier the better, as long as it's not stupid, or poorly made. She called FASHIONISTAS the best adult film ever, jerks off to John Leslie's FRESH MEAT, and called Bella Donna's EVIL PINK one of the best films of 2003.
Her website has a bunch of reviews and recommendations. After you've seen all of them, you might wanna pony up $12 for her book THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO ADULT VIDEOS which contains reviews of 350 more hand-picked dirty movies.
I'm a big fan of Big Bottom Sadie , which for my money was the the best feature of its year right behind Fashionistas . Some intense stuff there.
Max Booty "Making people struggle a little bit is not necessarily the worst thing."-Sen. Rick Santorum, Pennsylvania Republican, warning against the idea of child care as an entitlement.
See also Face Dance Obsession. Or how about Nacho's Back 2 Evil? I guess Sexual Disorder or Dirty Trixx from Mason might be appropriate too. However, as an overall piece of work none of these are in the same ballpark as Fashionistas.
Ok, I have Ass Collector and Hellcats 2 coming via rental. I put Hardball #21, Back 2 Evil, Flesh Hunter #5, Rocco's Way to Love & Dog Walker in my queue.
Mason Sadie Animal Trainer 1-5
were not available currently for me. I'll definitely look into them elsewhere. Thanks you guys!

OK, I know you said you liked 'everything' about Fashionistas. :) But if you can narrow down some of the things you'd most be looking for in other movies, I could try to help with some more recommendations.
On any level, I do highly recommend Ass Collector and will be interested to hear your opinion on it.
If you are looking for people being into what they're doing with decent production values, but a full story isn't the most important thing to you, then I also fully recommend Rocco's Way to Love and Back 2 Evil.
Well Tricia, good question! Well the quality of the production of course was incredible. Everyone really seeming to enjoy what they were doing helped too. I loved the bondage elements, the spanking was great, the toys were interesting as well. Belladonna was inspiring!
I was going to suggest that, but I overlooked it too!
A close relation to Buda, I think, is the very first edition of Euro Hardball, which has a gritty, grimy, sleazy sort of feel to it. I know Skronker already suggested this series, quite rightly so, but this is rather different (in some aspects) to what Christoph is doing now.
Nothing says I love you so much as a tongue in the ass. 2884 Posts 1/03

If you want to go back a little ways, I think Alex DeRenzy's Slave To Love is worth a watch. It has a plot and short, but intense sex with beautiful women in a variety of settings and setups. Altogether, a nice journey into depravity.
I don't think you're going to find anything as good as the FASHIONISTAS in the near future. I hope I'm wrong but, at the same time, I wouldn't recommend getting out the needle point patterns just yet. There's still some really great material out there that, while not on par with the FASHIONISTAS, is none the less very entertaining.
I was so happy to finally see Thomas Zupko's OPERA. This is an all-around flawless film with the highest production values. It isn't as long as the FASHIONISTAS but includes beautifully styled set designs & an eerily romantic plot mixed with rough sexual themes.
One of the few so-called "couples" films I've enjoyed is the collector's DVD of Bud Lee's a DEVIL'S TAIL. It has a neat story and the Joel Lawrence - Kylie Ireland scene rocks with hard sexual energy. Excellent material. Also, Vivid's ARTEMESIA is a great film to see & was an AVN favorite. It's not to be missed.
Nor can you go wrong with BACK 2 EVIL. The Avy Scott - Nacho Vidal scene is outstanding & very well shot.
Over the weekend I saw BELLA LOVES JENNA. There was a lot of hype surrounding this film & I felt it more than lived up to it. It's certainly a weird film but not trashy. It has a well thought out plot as well as intense, wild sex & probably the best lesbian scene I have seen.
I would also recommend seeing Axel Braun's work. He's a highly creative director & editor. GIGOLO, SEDUCTION & COMPULSION are three of his best films. You should also like Mason's movies. Her camera skills & creative sexual imagination make her, in my opinion, the best director around. Happy viewing!
I read VictoriO review and this movie sounds so familiar. Didn't Holly Black escape from a B/F and run onto a porno film set. There Rocco talks her into doing an anal scene with another actor meanwhile Rocco and Holly are face to face carrying on an intense conversation and it gives you the feeling that Rocco really did talk her into doing the anal and she is a bit miffed at him for it.
Was that acting or was it for real? Was Holly pissed because of the actor they chose for the scene? Or that it went from vagina to anal?
Buda does not come close to Fashionistas as far as editing and story go. Wish I could remember more about it. Lots of non-English speaking Hungarian actors is my only other memory.

I asked John the same question, because she looked unhappy about something. He said that it was a combination of: it was the end of one of the longest days of the shoot and, yes, she was a good actress.
Ok, I've been busy. Ass Collector was good. We laughed a lot at the collector he was comical whether or not he was trying to be! It was a fun romp any way. Back 2 Evil was better IMO. I loved the scene with Avy and Nacho, the monkey creeped me out though lol, not a fan of monkeys in general. Bella Loves Jenna was interesting, as far as the story, production value and just general creepyness (is that a word?). Any way, the Jenna and Bella scene was scorching and the lighted gurney was cool. They could have skipped the creepy guy riding around on the bike though! It was worth renting for sure. We also rented Service Animals #6. It was ok too, but after the third scene, the disc froze and would not play any further. Hell Cats 2 was finally in and shipped today, so it should be here Monday or Tuesday. SugarDVD.com tends to arrive faster if it ships on Friday for some reason.
Also in my queue: Ass Worship, Flesh Hunter 6, Invasian,& Service Animals 13.
