| ChodeMasterJ Perpetual Marxist 5405 Posts 4/03 |  Posted - Dec 14 2009 : 11:42PMAll of the vids I dl'd from Killergram were .m4v files and I'd like to convert them to .avi's since it would be easier to just click on them rather than right click on them, click 'use quicktime' (instead of iTunes), blah blah blah. Can anyone recommend a good video converter that would convert .m4v's to .avi's? I like .avi's better. Makes life easier. I'm on a Mac too, but I'm sure you all know that. Any help is appreciated. | LubeNLuv Senior Member 1854 Posts 3/06 | Posted - Dec 15 2009 : 2:06PM If you find yourself launching iTunes to just view an .m4v file, it is because on your Mac, .m4v's are associated with iTunes natively. You can change this easily using the "Get Info" option on any .m4v file. Here's a nice tutorial on how to use this feature. And while you are at it, do yourself a huge favor and go download another open-source/freeware app called VLC. VLC plays anything, from WMV's to AVI's to MP4's to ISO/VOB's. Make this your default video player for all file types. It works great and comes with just about all codecs needed as part of the install package. [Link] |
