please, please, tell me that there is a way to recover files after you clean your recycle bin from your cp, cos I just erase 7 Simony videos :( .....there must be some kind of sofware somewhere in the net (I HOPE)

yes. there are file recovery utilities out there. Lots of them. Just do a quick google search for variations on "file recovery software". (Include other keywords like 'windows' or 'xp', etc.)

But if you want to restore your files stop using your computer now. Don't browse the internet, use email, etc. You don't want to do anything that might write data to you hard drive. If you write to the hard drive there's a possibility that the data will be written over the top of the files that were removed.

Drew thanks for your quick reply but what do you mean by ¨stop using your computer¨ ¨don´t browse the internet¨ ....if don´t do those 2 things how I gonna recover my files? ...pardon my dumbness but are you implying to use someone else cp? My English is a little limited please bear with me :) ....btw what exactly do you mean by use email?? ....thanks again.

Any functions you do on your computer that writes data on your main drive might over-write part of the data you are trying to save. So if you have another option to do the search, use it. Otherwise, I suppose the choice is to do this as minimally as possible - search, download, recover.

Did you get your files back ? Either way if anything like this should happen again it´s best not to touch the pc (leave it on !) until you got your "recovery software" either on a USB stick or a floppy disk. Most soft i´ve seen works with "recover by copy". That means it doesn´t do any writing on the harddrive but on another media (harddrive)
