Written & Directed by Tag Purvis
Starring Dan Montgomery, Karen Black, Aleksa Palladino, Walton Goggins, Glenn Shadix

If you like Southern melodramas then you'll probably enjoy this, I did. Set in a small town called Pineapple, Mississippi its a story of a family with hidden secrets and a sorted past. Griffith (Dan Montgomery) lives with his demented Aunt (Karen Black) and has a "thing" for his cousin Emily (Aleksa Palladino). He and Emily realize what they are doing is wrong and both feel like they are going nowhere in this small town but don't seem to do much about it either. It isn't until a drifter arrives (Walton Goggins) that their lives become unhinged and truths become revealed. Emily gets upset over their "friendship" and tensions heighten and things unravel.

Overall I enjoyed this film although it did tend to run a bit long and could've been edited down a bit. It's better then some of the other "independents" I've seen, most recently "And Then Came Summer" which was like a bad afternoon school special. The acting is ok, Karen does her usual somewhat campy schtick, but I did feel for the two male leads, especially towards the end. There's a few touching moments (where you see what Griffith is doing in the field for one) and some of the photography was really nice (shots of rain on waterlillies, Grif sitting in the shadows) I thought. The two male leads are attractive to boot! The sound was good as was the picture, a bit grainy here and there but that added to the atmosphere and may have been done on purpose. If you can find this for $15-20 it makes a nice addition to a gay collection.

Man, I hate to be so negative all the time, but this one bored me to tears! (I just rented it from Netflix). Those two chicks kept talking and talking and talking... I ended up just fastforwarding through most of this looking for something interesting to happen at the end (it never did). Tho i probably missed something important, cause the ending didn't really make sense.

I guess if you have more patience than me, you might enjoy this one. I don't know... maybe porn has made me jaded, but I need more sex in my gay-themed movies!!!!

On a slightly more positive note, I just saw Psycho Beach Party on HBO the other night, and found that pretty entertaining.

No its definitely not for everyone.....like I said it is a bit slow-alot of those Southern movies are- and should've been edited to tighten it up. I still liked it though and thought the guys were cute(don't go by this cover) and their involvement......

Psycho Beach Party I enjoyed too although that could've been funnier.

Nothing beats a good fuck film though I do agree!!!
