Why have so many of the series from Red Light are no longer avaliable. Elastic Assholes, Sport Fucking, Out Numbered, Cum in my Ass not my Mouth. Is the government cracking down or are the movies just that popular.

Those titles are all available at AdultDVDMarketplace.com. I don't know about why they might not be carried by other retailers.

I could be wrong, but I think Redlight is pulling Erik Everhard-directed titles from their catalogue; Mike John's titles, too. It may be a way of exacting revenge. It may be that Everhard and John own those series and/or the series titles.

It would be nice if Erik and Mike could speak to this issue for their fans.

Maybe I'm wrong but I understood that all RLD directors owned their product and that RLD acted as distributor. We know for certain that Erik owns his titles because he took RLD to court over them and won. They may, emphasis on may, have reached an agreement letting RLD sell any remaining stock, but the titles are owned by Erik and any new pressings will be done under the EA umbrella.

It was my impression that some (but not most) of the RLD directors had a kind of on-going participation in the gross receipts generated by their films (akin to the type of deal that top Hollywood actors command), but not "ownership" of the films themselves. Everhard and John may have been the exceptions.

The copyright notice on each RLD video should reflect the actual owner. In addition, the Keeper of Records listed on each video would be suggestive.

My further impression is that Evil Angel is the only company that functions purely as a distribution entity, whose directors actually own their films. Hence Jules Jordan's ability to walk away with his entire EA film library.

These are only inferences.

I've often wondered about this distributor role. All of Evasive Angles titles were distributed by Devils Films -from 1997 until 2003.
All their big series like 18 and Nasty-Asian Street Hookers-H.T.s Black Street Hookers-Hot Latin Pussy Adventures.

Evasive did not start distributing their own titles until 2003 according to the stats.

When I spoke with Brandon and Jewel about this, I was told that the deal is an ownership deal. However, upon leaving the director has an option. They can leave their titles with Red Light or they can go back and re-edit, re-author and replicate the DVD's and DVD covers so that they no longer have any references to Red Light District of Platinum X Productions and take those titles with them.

Given that these are older titles, that have already sold the majority of copies that are going to be sold, the directors have to make a decision as to whether that additional cost is worth it. If you leave on bad terms, it probably is worth it because of the "cutting off your nose to spite your face" aspect of breaking up on bad terms.
