If I downloaded pirated copies I wouldn't care, but I'm paying for the DVDs and EXPECT it to be free from watermarks. So until this shit is gone, I stick with Platinum X (I sincerely hope they won't follow). This is not how you treat your fans... [Link]

Individual producers/directors such as Mike John, Erik Everhard, etc., dont watermark their product for personal reasons. The only producer/director that DOES watermark his product at RLD/PXP is Vince Vouyer. They have made efforts to minimalize the actual watermark size so as not to irritate fans such as yourself who dont approve of the mark on a purchased product. Hopefully you can find a happy medium w/the products that RLD/PXP puts out in the meantime that do contain the 'mark'. lates, Von S. [Link]

In the future if their star starts to wane, it's petty little irritations like this that really help build up frustration in fans and tip them over the edge of loyalty to a studio. Made efforts? Isn't it more of an effort to put the watermark there in the first place? If badly produced underground porn carry watermarks I couldn't care less - but when studios I thought was on my side (meaning those featuring as professional productions as porn possible) shove this in my face I get very pissed... I hope I'm not the only one. I can take dust on the lense - even the sloppy video quality of some early PXP - but when someone intentionally lower the video quality that's it... (like choppy frame-rate in Anal Trainer 5, or the B&W filtered scene in Slam It In deeper... or the B&W filtered scene in Kill Bill vol.1 region 2 (i think) Edited by - Gunzo on 9/30/2005 8:37:00 AM [Link]

If piracy really is the issue, then up the price, I pay for Evil Angel stuff because I think it's good shit and I'd pay for any porn I find good enough (there is a limit but as long as it doesn't cost more than new mainstream DVDs I'm cool with it) Watermarks may seem like petty irriations to some... but it's always there in the corner of your eye... and the more I think of it the more annoying it gets.... I think those T-shirts the performers are wearing is advertising enough (by the way, are those available for purchase? I'd love to have a PXP tee) [Link]

I reviewed O RING BLOWOUT a few months ago and was pretty annoyed that an otherwise good picture was marred by the "Voyeur Productions" logo. At least director like Jules Jordan had enough respect for fans to cease using watermarks from a few years back. Here's hoping that other directors follow his example. [Link]

PXP distributes those titles for him. The decision on the watermark on Brandon's titles is Brandon's and Brandon's alone. He doesn't need to worry about any one "above him" putting watermarks on his stuff. As Tim said, the only PXP/RLD producer/director who owns his own movies that puts watermarks on his movies is Vince Vouyer. All of the others intentionally keep them off of their movies. I hate the watermarks and go out of my way to avoid purchasing titles that contain them (although sometimes I can't help myself). The RLD/PXP/Vince Vouyer Productions watermarks have gotten smaller than they used to be, but they are still annoying. I agree with Brandon that they do really don't do anyting to prevent bootlegging. Those two things give the bootleggers a better opportunity to be able to "trim" the watermark right off of the picutre. I know my tv is smaller than probably a lot of yours so that may be a part of it but so far it's not been a problem whatsoever for me. [Link]

I was going to buy Interracial Hole Stretchers #2 but after reading this thread I will be skipping this. This is just flat out dumb policy by PXP and RLD. If someone goes into a store there are usually many movies that grab your attention now if you have to worry that one company might have a nasty watermark on their videos you are going to go with the safe bet and buy from another company. Why go thru the hassle of memorizing which director has the watermark on the product? Also making the watermark smaller is not going to make any difference. That would be as annoying as watching a scene filmed using a dirty camera with a spot on screen all the time. Can someone help me out here? These 2 movies are on my list. On the internet, someoneone on a message board referred to watermarking as vandalizing the movies. I think that watermarking is like letterboxing to many people. There are people that get so distracted by the black bars on the top and bottom that they avoid widescreen DVDs. I got use to widescreen and I prefer it over full screen. The black bars were distracting to me when I first saw the format. Watermarking is annoying to me but I can still watch a TV show or movie that have it. It bothers me more when DVDs have watermarking then the TV networks showing their logos. I buy DVDs to keep and I have higher standards for picture quality then when I'm watching regular TV. Video-X-Pix uses watermarks on their DVDs but they only show them briefly. I wish they didn't use them all but it's preferable to having a watermark on an entire movie. Maybe Companies that use watermarks can follow the example of Video X Pix and show the logos briefly. This might be a compromise that would please many fans. In Epi-Log magazine, the Editor (William Anchors) complained about the USA network and Scifi channel putting their logos on the screen because he thought it was distracting. The 2 networks have been among the worst TV networks for putting their logos on the screen for long periods of time. Over time this practice became more and more common among TV networks. Someone from the Scifi Channel told me that the reason they have the logo is because if someone videotapes one of their shows and sells it, they can prove the source of the videotape. He told me another reason they do it is so that people will find them when they are switching channels. Anchors says that the Scifi channel believes that people are too stupid to know what channel they are on.
