I know people get worrie when a topic like this starts and I am going to start by saying that this is not a thread to lash out at your favorite studio to hate, but for you to chime in generally about the current state of porn.

So this is the issue that I am seeing as we bring 2006 to a close. We are being overrun with scenes that are either cutting room floor quality, or old scenes. I'm seeing Stefano, Everhard, and a host of others poppin up in titles that are ot affiliated with their current contracts. Truth be told few studios out there are making aliving soley of purchased footage.

For me, I have to think if a scene wasn't good enough for guys those those two to put out with there own deal, it's most likely not their best work.

We already know that one studio in paticulare took heat here for putting out comp titles attempting to fool less observant fans that it's not a comp or old scenes.

That's pretty much the complaint in a nutshell. This is porn, and porn is about being fresh. Linda Lovelace, the lost tapes most likey wouldn't sell, and all these new scenes with retired stars, even dead stars needs to stop.

One studio I will mention is RLD/PXP. People have posted threads about how they are slippin and can they survive. This is my take. RLD/PXP is not the powerhouse they once were. I can also tell you that I haven't seen a release from either studio since early this year, but I have to be blunt and say that the female casting appears to be the best in the business.

The other thing I will say is Mark Wood ain't no joke and I am gonna close a phrase, "Where there's Wood, there's fire". That guy has been in the camp of Jordan, Van Style's and host of other hot directors over the last few years. Not only can he perform, he can shoot and drect as well.

Either way, I'll take anything fresh over the stale stuff some studios are puching. Porn was not meant to be re-heated!

I totally agree with your comments on issue relating to old unused or re-used scenes popping up in the current crop of porn releases.

However, if one understands where to look for the best releases they will sure find some great stuff!!

By sticking to labels such as Evil Empire etc you can be sure to see the freshest talent in the freshest scenes. I also go by the dates of production on the dvd on the back cover, as you can usually tell by that how recent the material is.. should the dates vary ignificantly or be older you know you have a compilation on your hands. there are also labels you avoid immediately because it seems all their material is compilations.

Internet research also helps in many cases. I suppose the people here are lucky in that we know we can check reviews on this site, go to different parts of the website to check for new title and find out further details and price comparisons.

I do find however that there is an issue with some directors using scenes that they have shot in the past that just never deemed good enough, sub-par material that is shelved for a reason only to be used when they have budgetary constraints and need to save some cash.

Heres, hoping for some great releases in 2007!!!
