Paul Thomas at Vivid has remade Devil in Miss Jones , with Savanna Samson as Miss Jones and Jenna Jameson as the Devil. Though this film is said to be "very, very different from the original version", Georgia Spelvin was still brought in for a cameo appearance. I am curious what you fans of classic porn think about this. And is this the end or could there be more remakes on the way?  [Link] |

I am reserving my final opinion until I see the remakes. Vivid/Paul Thomas went through the work supposedly to bring Georgina Spelvin out of retirment to appear in a cameo in the remake of DMJ so I have high hopes for it. If it is a different film it could work as I can't see the original being made today. I haven't heard enough about Neu Wave Hookers to even start forming an initial opinion on this one. As far as the idea of making remakes of the classics, if they are willing to do them right, and make them different enough to warrent remaking it, then go for it. If they are just trying to cash in on a successful name, I hope they don't do to many.  [Link] |

Both plays on the popular franchises sound very interesting to say the least, though at the end of the day it's the male cast that's still gonna determine if I buy them or not.I must say I've never seen the original "Devil in Miss Jones" , only the 3rd & 4th installment by the Dark Bros, which I think was a total departure from the 1st two chapters, so my expectations may be skewed. As I understand it, the original was more classic in terms of storytelling and didn't have the punk/destroy appeal of the Dark Bros' re-interpretations. If this is true, I can understand the choice of Paul Thomas. Savanna is not the best actress around, but she can do slapstick and she's a great sexual performer. As for "Neu Wave Hookers" , I hope this is gonna THE choice film for me to get introduced to Eon. I was greatly interested by his previous efforts, but somehow the male cast withheld me from indulging. I'll wait for the definite cast list and keep my fingers crossed. I wish someone would buy the old "Backdoor to Hollywood" franchise from CDI and make something totally unexpected out of it. It has so much potential. Just give it a director. [Link] |

I think NEU WAVE HOOKERS will be great; talk about a perfect match of material & director! However I think DMJ could be solid or suck, but most likely the latter. There is no room for "slapstick" in Gerard Damiano's original vision; in fact, I'm not sure how such an uncompromising storylline & concept can be done justice by Vivid, no matter who's at the helm. Too bad Vivid evidently bought the rights to this title, so that it couldn't be done by more appropriate parties (like me, lol).[Link] |

What a difference a year makes. The general consensus of the previous posts was that New Wave Hookers was a slam dunk and TDIMJ was going to suck. Looks like DOYLE's job is safe for the time being.[Link] |
