Is there any dvd *rental* internet sites available for Canada? I only see american sites closed to canadian customers. Thanks!

I don't know of any X-rental dvd sites for Canada. But if you are looking to buy I have found that www.dv-depot.com is the best Canadian site out there. They list whether a title is in stock or not, you can reserve a copy for up to 30 days if you want. You can request they add a certain title to their site on their title request page, they have a good selection from all the porn companies, and they ship via expresspost which is cheaper than a courier but you can still track the package. You may pay a little bit more than at some of the other Canadian web sites, but none of the others have the benefits I listed above. I swear by these guys. Very cool to deal with.

The problem with buying from Canadian suppliers is that you may end up with an edited (Canadian) version. Just think of the stuff you rent in Canada, and how the best parts are edited out. Why would it be any different just because it's on DVD?

As for dv-depot, their prices look very high to me, and notice that most of the titles are not in stock.

I rather take my chances with customs and buy from American vendors. I have yet to lose a single DVD.

I've bought somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 discs from dv-depot and have always gotten US versions of the discs. Nobody here wants to buy the Canadian versions because they know they are editing the shit out of them, and the quality sucks because they are using crappy dvd replicating companies that have shit picture quality and you you also get a crappy menus that don't even look like to original US versions. Plus, you can tell a copy is edited by the sticker that is placed on the artwork indicating that it has been edited.
I watched the US version of one disc and then rented the Canadian version just out of curiosity. The Canadian version was cut down to 1 hour 30 minutes from a 2 hour 20 minute movie. A total 50 minutes was cut, to me that's totally unacceptable. I am very particular about getting uncut stuff and I would never accept an edited version for my collection.
All the discs from dv-depot are straight from the US.

dv-depot seems strange: they import DVDs from American suppliers into Canada, then they send it back to American customers. So they have to clear customs twice, and pay shipping charges twice.

I think that most of their customers are from Europe and other parts of the world. They shop at dv-depot for mainstream discs because get a better deal on them due to the Canadian exchange rate, and I guess they pick up a couple of porn dvd while shopping too.
