| Hold On Loosely Member But don't let go! 78 Posts 7/08 | I am planning to start a new production company and I'm in the process of gathering information for my business plan. From what I've seen, there is no better place to start than right here! I'm interested in any information, advice, or links that will assist in my research. I have found one source of information, Ray's Corner (http://www.rayscorner.com) but I'm having my doubts about signing up with them. One week ago, I sent an email and left a phone message concerning specific questions about their service and have not gotten a reply to either one. That sends up a red flag in my book. I already have a video production company (non-porno) and I have a lot of experience with photography, analog and non-linear editing, and the demands of production. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! "Fantasy Will Set You Free!" Loosely [Link] |

If you already have a mainstream production company and photography/videography experience you are already head and shoulders above most of the idiots shooting porn in Porn Valley these days. email me privately I will help ya out and wont charge ya anything |

It wouldn't have made any difference anyway as I refuse to do business with anyone who will not return calls or emails. My production company is not main stream, but it has provided me with valuable technical experience. Since I have no ambition to be a performer, I know I can put my experience to good use. I've seen a lot of "productions" and an astonishing amount of them could raise their approval ratings greatly with some basic knowledge of lighting. Add to that some concept of steady camerawork, depth of field and basic attention to audio and they would have the possibility of producing some quality video. I take Porn Valley to mean California, but I guess it could be a representation of the industry in general. I'm located in the Midwest and I see it as an advantage since it appears that most of the competition is in Porn Valley, California and not here. You are somewhere in my memory of reading a recent post to a person who wants to be a performer. You were straightforward and to the point. If memory serves, you're located in the south. Am I right? Thanks for your offer to communicate privately with you. I will take you up on that shortly. "Fantasy Will Set You Free!" Loosely |

Before you decide to shoot where you are go research the Ray Guhn case. He and others were arrested and prosecuted in Florida for shooting porn and running a website. He pled instead of going to trial. I think he got 4-5 years in the plea instead of a potential 25+ if he lost at trial. Michael www.AdultBizLaw.com |

Common sense will go a long way to keeping you out of jail, just as it would have for Ray Guhn. Yes I am in Atlanta, when I first started shooting here you couldnt even buy a Hustler Magazine here. Of course there wasnt an internet then either. Porn Valley refers to the San Fernando Valley are (Chatsworth, Woodland Hills etc.) which is where almost all the porn companies are located. I presume you already have at least some starting talent to work with. (meaning performers) |

I believe I have a good idea on how to find some, as I plan on focusing primarily on amateurs. But as my research progresses, I may find that a whole new can of worms is opened with this concept. I scanned your website briefly and was very impressed with what I saw. I am going to find the time this weekend to delve deeper and once I've done some homework I will contact you privately. Some people think they can start a business without a business plan. After running through the process on numerous occasions, I have been brought to reality more often than not and discovered that what seems like a good idea is anything but. That may be the case here, then again it may not. I'm just beginning my research and I thank you both for your comments. "Fantasy Will Set You Free!" Loosely |
