I purchased 5 dvds from ADN which I recvd the other day, however one the discs is faulty and the player spits it out, I tried it on another player and the same thing happens. The disc is double sided, the bonus side works its the feature film that doesn't, I've contacted ADN and they replied quickly to say that I'm to send it back to them before they can send me a replacement.
Has anyone needed to send a dvd back because it is faulty, if so did the retailer refund the postage for you, not sure how much it will cost to post it back to the US, it can't be much, but I don't really want to pay for it when the disc is clearly faulty.
Cheers

I had a disc I had to send back to Adultdvdnow once, since they don't need a slick or cover for faulty returns it cost very little to return to them.

I was slightly annoyed at first about having to pay for postage, but this was in the "good old days" with the LPG, slightly cheaper shipping and less-crap aussie dollar, so really it didn't worry me much.

Anyway, I returned the faulty disc and they sent out a replacement, and everything was happy in the end.

cheers,

scipio

I had to return one to DVD Extreme a couple of weeks ago and everything went smoothly except it took a week for the dvd to get back to them but less than three days for me to get one back or even the first time I ordered the disc it came in three days, go figure with the US Mail. I did have to pay postage to send it back which was annoying a bit but not as annoying as being out twenty six bucks if I had done nothing and plus the new dvd works fine so everything is ok.

Having to pay postage for returning a defective DVD is unfair. The online DVD stores should at least give you a credit to be used against a future purchase. Do any of the stores have such a policy?

I don't know of any stores that pay the cost of return shipping as a standard policy. I do know that a few stores will toss in a free DVD or coupon when resolving some customer service issues as a way to thank you for your time and understanding.

Adult DVD Explorer listens!!! Although we cannot help the fact that some dvds are defective, we can do something about unfair return policies.

Our policy for returning defective merchandise is simply:
Call us, tell us the title of the defective dvd. We will send out a replacement dvd AND a postage-paid return envelope. Once you receive your replacement and return envelope, slip in the defective merchandise and send it back to us.

We know that paying extra shipping for returning a product that doesn't work is ludicrous. Adult DVD Explorer wants happy customers, not angry ones. If you've had problems elsewhere, come see us. What the heck, visit us whether you've had problems elsewhere or not!!

We look forward to serving you!

I did a returen due to false advertising. The company so cool about it. It was not their fault it was the company who made it.

Stolt,
I have returned about 4 faulty disks back to ADN for a replacement with no problems. The cost of posting it back was no big deal for me I was just happy to get it exchanged.

I also make a point of using Recorded delivery, a bit more expensive then regular airmail. This will cover you if it gets lost going back and you can claim from the post office if it does. Unlike DVDExplorers method retailers will expect your disk back before a replacement is sent.
