<H2>Xtreme Janine: The 12 Girl Orgy</H2>
General Description:
Twelve girl orgy, you say? I'm there!
Actually, the title is quite deceiving. The premise is straightforward enough: Janine, a porn star, wants to shoot a massive all-girl orgy, with herself being the center of attention and "completely dominated" (her words.)
But the disc is actually rather odd; most of it is actually a job interview by Janine with the women who show up in the orgy segments. (The job interview is real, btw, and several of the women who appear in the interview don't show up in the group segment. Guess they got the axe... doh!) The women do get it on in the interview portions, but the majority of this disc is actually just women interviewing for the job! Occasionally, the interviews get pretty steamy, but the video cuts to different scenes quickly.
Surprisingly, the orgy scenes aren't very hot. They're very bondage-driven, and they end up being more of a "gee-whiz what a scene" sort of deal than anything really sexy. One woman with a grating voice keeps shouting out stupid instructions the entire time, and you can hear her over all the other women.
Video Quality:
Slightly grainy at times, and the scenes aren't nearly long enough. It's like a porno with the attention span of an MTV film!
Audio Quality:
Fine, I guess. Nothing to write home about.
Disc Presentation:
Well, the disc producers tried to be creative. They built in a "three-dimensional navigable menu" - very much like Myst, you take steps down a hall and turn using the remote. The hall has a bunch of doors leading to different areas of the disc.
This feature ultimately bombs, however. The response time is lousy, and it takes forever to get anywhere. Furthermore, it's pointless - the root menu lets you select anything in the hall from a menu directly! Give Vivid a 5 for effort, but a 0 for execution.
The disc does feature quick bios on each woman in the orgy, though, from a selectable "Meet the Girls" menu. The disc also features about 20 different conventional hardcore sex segments scattered around, but it's annoying that only a few are available in any location.
One MAJOR annoyance: The "Bad Girls" section features another walk-around menu with four jail cells you can enter, each containing a poster you can activate for a different video clip. At the end of the hall is a gate with many more jail cells beyond it, and you can see that some of them have posters in them, too - but you can't get through the gate. If you turn around at this point, you actually see a key sitting on the ground - but there's NO WAY TO PICK IT UP! How odd...
Otherwise, the disc has the customary link to the web site, and side 2 of the disc contains some rather boring and skippable extras. The cover claims that the disc utilizes the angle feature, but I couldn't find any multi-angle scenes. (I didn't spend a lot of time looking, though.)
Finally, side 2 has some DVD-ROM content - four bonus movies encoded in MPEG1. I didn't even bother checking them out - after all, their "main attraction" MPEG2 movies were mediocre at best...

If you couldn't guess, this disc is a huge bomb. Watch Homefries first.
