I'm sorry but is getting just ridiculous. It is not possible that a reviewer writes a 132 lines review and spend only SIX lines to talk about (in his opinion) the best scene in the movie!! ..but the worst part is that in those six lines, he doesn't say anything anyway. ...quote <<In the Fourth and best scene in the movie, two males get taken on by Vanessa Virgin and Michelle Wild. They start off with some pussy eating before going into vaginal sex. Then they head into anal sex followed by dp while the odd girl out does does dildo action>> ...How is this supost to help me with such of vague information?!!? So, for the love of God! ..and this goes for all reviewers, sayng: there is a dp or anal sex in the scene is not ENOUGH! You have to say Which is the girl that is actually having the anal sex (dp) too or the information you are giving is worthless.

Which review is that from?

You seem to pick apart a review and not include which review this was taken from...

Manolo should actually be happy as two reviews ago he wouldn't have even known who was in the scene from my reviews as I just started doing the scene summaries.

I thought he did a good job. There's been times I'm not even moved enough to describe the sex at all, but that should speak for itself.

quote Flash:
Manolo should actually be happy as two reviews ago he wouldn't have even known who was in the scene from my reviews as I just started doing the scene summaries.

I liked your old format, but then, I don't go by any particular act performed, or whether it was Slot A or B.

Manolo, dude, what do ya want for nothing?

Many of us writers do struggle to find the right length for our reviews. Ideally, we want to provide the reader with as much information as possible without trying his or her patience. Personally, I think Flash has a very good balance in his reviews. My own reviews tend to run very long, but I am hopeful that by breaking them up into sections, people can easily skim to find what interests them most.

I notice that Flash does include his e-mail in case readers have questions. I also encourage my own readers to e-mail me if my reviews don't provide the information they're looking for. Not long ago, I answered one such inquiry from a kind reader who happens to have a knuckle cracking fetish. He wanted to know more about Scarlet's footage in Smokin' 3. I was happy to recheck the scene and give him the details he needed to make his purchasing decision. I'm sure most reviewers here would be willing to do the same.

Different reviewers have different styles.

Flash gets more technical on the DVD itself, which is good for those who buy DVDs for technical superiority over VHS.

Am I right?

Damn, that took me long time to type that reply....

I also encourage my own readers to e-mail me if my reviews don't provide the information they're looking for.

Me too, here's my closing line...

"Any questions, comments, or complaints about this review or my past reviews <talk to me>. "

I've gotten quite a few emails asking for more details, asking about the best scenes of a star that I like and so forth.

I was happy to recheck the scene and give him the details he needed to make his purchasing decision. I'm sure most reviewers here would be willing to do the same.

Same here. With all the porn I see, I have to remember which release I am thinking of. I have and will check out a question someone has for me. I don't always give the exact details someone is looking for, so if they ask, they will recieve.

Yes I cover the technical details heavily in my reviews. Often when I'm reading a review, I'm replacing an old VHS with a disc and I want to know whether the disc is worth it and with some of the discs out there, people are better off with their old VHS, for instance on the one I'm currently working on for Through the Looking Glass. When I do the review of the film, I view the film as a whole not as the various pieces as that is how I look at the films. Plus I suck at writing laundry lists of the sex acts. And if I'm writing 135 lines without going into heavy detail in the sex acts, if I did get into heavy detail, poor Drew and Steph would have to get another server to handle the immense size of the resulting review. I realize that some viewers are looking for every single act performed in the film and by whom and to whom, but that just isn't my style. I do provide an email link at the bottom of all my reviews and it has been there since the very first one I did so that readers can ask questions.

Questions, comments, etc? Email me at flash@my.adultdvdtalk.com.

Is how it reads on the current ones. I attempt to answer all questions sent to me although some I can't as I don't have every film that I have reviewed anymore, especially the ones that got lower ratings. This peticular title actually went out in the mail today to another reviewer here.

There is also a link to my site regarding my reviews to which in my FAQ lies the statement:

Can you describe in detail what actress X does in her scene in movie A?
No, it's not my style to laundry list the sex acts in the film. Other reviewers on ADT use this style very successfully but that's not what I do. I view each adult film as a whole and comment on the whole film, I might mention a bad scene, but I won't go into details on what everyone does in the scene, that's what watching the film is for.

Unfortunately I can't please everyone. I think that all the reviewers here at ADT try their best to write the most they can about each film they watch without writing a small book each so that the information presented is still accessible to the reader. As I'm starting to ramble now and getting close to exceeding the size of the review in question I'll stop now. I just take it kind of personally when someone says that all 135 lines I wrote were worthless. Thanks to all who have the positive statements about my reviews here.

Manolo,

I think it's fair that you've made your voice heard, in that that is what you'd like to see more of, and that's cool. It's always nice as reviewers to hear what the people who read them want to see. However:

Speaking as someone who (along with Saki) probably writes some of the longest and most comprehensive reviews on ADT, I have to defend Flash on this one as well. It's just not what he wants to write about. And frankly, what you're asking for is something that not everyone wants to read about. None of us get paid to write these reviews, and these things take alot of time to write. We do it because we enjoy it. It was a mistake for you to single out a review like that and call for a universal change to all reviews. The beauty of the reviews here is that they are honest, and they are all in a different style. They each have their strengths and I applaud that diversity. I think your opinion is certainly fair and you shouldn't be afraid to ask for it in general, but it's not fair to invalidate Flash's review style just because it doesn't have what YOU are looking for. Many people love Flash's reviews precisely because he DOESN'T do what you're asking. Not 6 or 7 years ago it was almost impossible to find reviews on ANYthing porn related. I would consider yourself lucky...

On the other hand, I'm almost positive that my reviews probably go into more detail than even you are looking for, and the trade off to that is that I'm also almost positive that only about 1% of those who actually look at my review read the whole thing. It's a trade off. Different strokes for different folks, that goes as much for porn reviews as it does for porn itself. :)

Manolo- show some appreciation for all the work that people put into their reviews. You can provide useful feedback without being rudely critical.

And Flash... that is YOUR perogative! I personally find your reviews insightful, technical, detailed, and more than anything else USEFUL! Do not pervert your style to please others. Remain true to yourself! Anything else will dilute your output.

For me it really depends on how much I enjoyed the movie as to how indepth the review gets. For something I really liked I am much more likely to describe all the aspects I enjoyed vice something that was just your run of the mill sex vid.
