Someone very close to me died today. I met him when I was 20 years old. It was a chance encounter sort of thing, nothing I expected or planned. When I saw him, something just clicked and I knew I had to take him home with me... Our relationship lasted five years. Until this early morning, November 17th, when he lost his tenuous hold on life and slipped away. How do you grieve when you lose someone so abruptly? Someone who brought such precious joy into your life? He wasn't just a fucking good time, he was utterly SELFLESS. He was always there when I needed him, any time of day, anywhere. Sorry, rambling. I'm just going to miss the shit out of that vibrator. He had a great run... I'm trying to understand why God would put him in my life and then take him away from me without the least forewarning. I take comfort in that he expired with exquisite dignity, with the faintest of shudders, clutched in my fingers. He was a soldier to the end. I'm healing. It's hard, but I can smile.
