The only issue I can think of with your G3 is perhaps the DVD "firmware" needs to be updated? I'm not really sure how to do this though... Let me do some research real quick...

I just use it mainly for browsing and word procesing though lately I've been using it to watch porn DVDs. The problem is, about sixth months ago, I started getting an error message when I put in certain RLD/PXP or Ana/Dia DVDs that reads "unknown error in DVD playback framework (-70001)." It doesn't happen all the time and I have no problems watching discs from Evil Angel, Sineplex, or really any other companies. The other frustrating issue is that the problem is not consistent. I bought "Cum Filled Asshole Overload 2" from Red Light and it's played fine, every single time. I also have plenty of older RLD titles that play with no problems. I can't spring for a new computer right now so if anybody knows of any updates or drivers I need to download or of any settings I need to adjust, I'd really appreciate it. Just a quick note about my overall system specs -- iMac 400 Mhz G3 with slot loading DVD-ROM drive running OSX v.10.2.8. [Link] |

| RLD Fiend Member Cincinnati, O. 665 Posts 10/04 | I would try installing This Firmware Update You must reboot back into OS 9 to install, and then switch back to Jaguar. Edit: Whoa... Hold on... I just found this: see #12: 12. iMac DVD Update 1.0 places new firmware on the DVD-ROM shipped in iMac DV and iMac DV Special Edition computers. This update improves the ability of iMac DV models to read certain CD-ROM discs and to determine if a disc is unreadable. For additional information on this update please read TIL Article 58557: "iMac DVD Update 1.0: Read Me" So, there's something called an "iMac DVD Update 1.0" from Apple which addresses the problem specifically in iMac DV special editions. But, the link at that site doesn't work... This is What You Need, Probably Or it could be this one if it's a SuperDrive
