Short question if anyone knows :)

Will Rocco Meats an American Angel in Paris ever be released on DVD?

I know it's on VHS and was pulled for legal reasons at one time. And it's a great video but i would really rather have it on dvd if there is any chance it will be coming to that format in the future.

As you knwo the offending scene was either pulled or those who made a stink were compensated. Either way, it's back on the shelves. Also, one of my top couple of vids. from that year. I brought up the DVD subject a couple months back and Tricia responded they were working on it. There is a scene that was filmed with Savanna not on the tape but has a screen capture on the back of the box. I E-Mailed Savanna about it and she said it was a DP scene and it was her favorite and she deosn't know why it was not used. I hope and pray it will be added to the DVD. Tricia said she would investigate that also.

It's interesting that you say that an additional scene was filmed and not used, because it seems like Rocco does film stuff and stockpile it for later use, often quite some time afterwards.

While I don't claim to know for certain. It was my understanding that the legal issue was the use of the name of the hotel, etc in some of the scenes. I really hope the movie makes it to dvd as I hate to buy vhs anymore if I can keep from it.

Yes, the hotel was quite upset about their name and logo being seen in the movie. The situation was resoved without any recutting having to be done to the movie.
As for the DP scene, I imagine Rocco had his reasons for not using it in this movie. Actually, maybe I am thinking of the raw footage, but I could have sworn that there was some of that in the movie. Anyway, with the look of "I can't wait to get out of here" that was on Savannah's face for the majority of that scene, in my opinion, I'm glad the scene wasn't any longer on the video.
I think the real star of the movie was Lisa Crawford, the girl who starts out with the glasses, and obviously LOVES to fuck. Which is much more than I felt about Savannah, which was that she was probably just looking for a way to get some name recognition and promo with Howard Stern and stuff like that. That's just my personal opinion, though.

Anyway, about the DVD - it's still on hold for lack of room in scheduling. We are doing ALL of Rocco's new movies as simultaneous releases, so it's difficult to do many of the older movies. When it is released on DVD, I don't think there will be any extra footage, since it is EXTREMEMLY difficult to go back into the camera masters and find stuff that wasn't in the movie.
