I believe I've read reviews that Bianca Biaggi worked bareback with she-males at times but have no cites. Now we go into the realm of rumor since nobody has done any (public) investigative work. There are claims that after hearing Darren tested HIV+ Bianca Biaggi got herself tested and was HIV+ too. I've heard nothing of any analysis on when she might have been infected. Of interest here is a claim that Bianca Carvalho (she-male) also turned up HIV+, and that it was not a recent infection. Obviously a plausible route of infection is Bianca Carvalho -> Bianca Biaggi -> Darren James. Unfortunately I doubt anyone is motivated to do the lab work required to show the infections are even related much less anything else. A plausible scenario doesn't prove anything. But there is a she-male in the area, and definitely a girl (with a history of working with she-males) in the right place at the right time. Too bad there's no more information. This was all gone over in painful detail last year: the Search function is your friend. The lesson is pretty clear: be wary of working with people with high-risk habits, and don't work in situations where you can't verify the medical tests (does Darren speak Portuguese?). [Link] |

If the theory fails you're left looking for new leads. Perhaps a better way to say it is that last year's outbreak doesn't have a link to "she-males" in a general sense but rather a possible link to a particular person who happens to be a she-male.
