With Ed Powers in temporary retirement, it seems Rodney Moore is the only guy doing porn without the "24 hours in the gym" perfect body. Is he still relevant? Are you still buying his movies? I still pick up the occasional movie from him if it has a pornstar I like.
I'm a die hard Rodney Moore collector (come on EXP please releasee I Swallow 13, 14 and 15 again on DVD) but lately his movies are a BIG letdown simply because he stays more behind the camera and let other guys do the work like Jack Venice and Lee Stone. I don't buy Rodney Moore movies for them. I want to see the anti-hero get the girls.

If I see any of his stuff on the new rental shelf, I'll always grab it. I won't purchase it. To me, his stuff is worth only a rental.

Back in the day he always had women who did not look like 98lb hairless,stoned, tattooed porn stars, and that was the attraction. Heather Travis looked just like somebody's cute secretary.
I don't rent, I only buy so it's all or nothing. I'm very sad EXP decided not to release all his older movies on DVD. I mean there are still tons of Cumm Brothers, Creme de la Face, Sodomizer, Cum Stoppers and I Swallow waiting to be released on DVD. Too bad Rodney Moore doesn't post here or has his own forum anymore because that way we could let him know how much we want to buy his older movies, those were the best including the 2 volumes of Rodney Blasts the Stars.
Rodney Moore is definitely relevant. He has 3+ series dedicated to thicker and/or mature women. Many of his performers are exclusives who can't be found anywhere else. His style is unique, and he often delivers the camera shots I want to see. All of his scenes have some sort of intro or setup, which always adds a little something. Also, outfits which are somehow sluttier than standard porngear yet can be worn in public (which Rodney likes to shoot). The POV blow jobs sometimes get overdone, especially if it's a thick girl whose lower body I want to see more of. And the total absence of DVD extras is inexcusable (but I buy his discs anyway, like a junkie). I agree with Ramsey; it would be nice for fans to have a way to communicate with Rodney.
The Rodney Moore series often has chicks that you have never seen before and will never see again and maybe it is for that reason that I enjoy his work...off the topic---since the HDDVD format is going the way of Betamax will this website be called AdultBlueRayDiscTalk??? It just doesn't have the same ring to it...
He can be. There's no reason why he can't make porn now that could easily stand up with some of the best. He should probably stay off camera and hire people though.
I disagree with this part. I enjoy his work more when he is performing and doing POV-esque scenes. He never was a POV purist, but he basically started the genre. If there is someone who did POV stuff extensively before him, I'd like to know about it. He is one of the few true originals in porn, as far as I can tell.
Guys like Lee Stone and Jack Venice so his movies can be like most all other movies out there? Boring and uninspired? It's Rodney Moore infront of the camera that makes his movies great. Like I have said before: I always cheer for the anti-hero not for the walking steroids.

I think Rodney has been cutting back on his participation in scenes because he's not able to consistently shoot huge loads like he did in the past. He needs a longer "recovery time".
I didn't say he should hire the same old boring male talent everyone else does either. I don't know why there's some idea that pornographers can't bring in new guys. In the whole world, there has to be guys who would be great porn studs and who wouldn't be the same old thing you see from the same old guys. To me, Rodney was good for more reasons than he didn't look like the other guys. He also had original ideas and is a pretty damn good camera guy. His porn wouldn't automatically be boring just because he wasn't in it. It could be boring if he hired guys with no talent but I think he could probably be just as resourceful there as he is in everything else.
Rodney in front of the camera also enhances the technical aspects since he has to coordinate the handheld POV camera and the stationary camera(s?), which usually results in a better variety of shots than when he's just holding the (single) camera and roaming around while others perform.

of course Rodney Moore is still relevant. but i think he's been spending alot of time shooting as his alter-ego, Sammy Mancini. (note that all the titles listed are put out by the one-man operation of Rodney's called Rodnivison). it's not too difficult to see from his She-Male Strokers website that Sammy is Rodney. i'm a big fan or both his alter-egos. i agree with Ramsey. EXP should be releasing more of his deep back catolog. there's alot of money being left on the table. i thought the early I Swallow & Goo Girls stuff was great. i think most of his fans are his fans because of him. they want to see the anti-hero. but, just merely from his years as a producer... he could shoot mainstream porn under yet another alter-ego and surely producer a high quality product and grow another business to add to Rodnivision & Mancini Productions . he definitely should return the forum section to his website to stay more in touch with his fans. thankfully his fans can at least post question or comments on [ invalid url ].

I think these guys are all burning out. Randy West, Ed Powers.... it figures that Rodney is easing off into the sunset. I agree with Ramsey, if it's not him (or maybe that Wolfman guy) what's the point? Rodney's stuff managed to exist in that weird twilight world of amateur-looking gonzo back when the girls who showed up in his scenes looked to be credibly amateur ... 1996 or whatever ... But now, every new girl is a seasoned hooker, pretty much, and that grotty little niche Rodney masterminded is an archaic remnant of another porn era. The Age of Internet "Reality" is demolishing everything in its wake. I don't think guys like Rodney have the energy or inclination to compete. But I bet he makes a decent check off the sites, and he can always get a POV BJ, so it doesn't sound too bad for Rodney. Just his fans.

I agree with skronker when he said that Rodney does not hire the girls with the amateur look anymore,which was one of the reason why I really liked his stuff. another thing that made his videos so special, was the fact that a lot of the girls he would hire never did another porn video again or weren't seen anywhere else but on Rodney's vids. maybe he just got a little lazy and just goes straight to the model agencies.

Could be because he does most if not all of his shooting down in L.A. When he was shooting in the Seattle area is when he had the total amateur feel to his vids.
Those Seattle girls were way too hairy for my taste! My favorite RM scenes were the ones he did with Alisson Kilgore. She was just amazingly cute with a great body!
I do but only for I Swallow 13, 14 and 15. I would kill to get those on DVD. I got this very ugly gap in my Rodney Moore collection now because those are missing :-(

It twould seem to me that someone needs to get off their ass and release more of his stuff. I always enjoyed seeing them on the Erotic network on satellite.
I would also like to see more of his back catalog released on DVD now that he has regained the rights to his Odyssey work. In addition, I would like to see Bada Bimbos vol 1 Cum Stoppers 4 (the one with Lovette)
I wish they release of some of his old series on DVD! I love to get his Cumstoppers series since I lost some of his VHS tapes. I love to get number 9! they should do like 1-10 in a package and offer it for like $39.95. I know it would sell!

just went back to dvdrentz and 11 and 12 are listed as 6/15 coming out and 13,14,15 have tba next to it. but 13 was on there release date as coming out the 15 but not no more so hopefully in the next few months a lot of his older stuff starts to show up
KINGOFKINGS, isn't DVDrentz renting only so how do we know we can also buy those movies? They aren't even listed on Rodney's site as coming soon to DVD.
Thanks anyway for checking it out. I wonder why that trailer even exists, if there is no connection to specific titles. It's interesting and entertaining, but not very helpful.

Can you people stop talking so badly about Rodney Moore ?? :( i mean the guy learned his lesson ok?? When the police ask you to pull over ..you obey their command, I dont think the guy was high on p.c.p , he just happen to snort some cocaine before getting into a high speed chase with the LAPD :) I wish the news media didnt make such a big deal about the video taped beating of Rodney Moore...now every black man is gonna think the police are up to no good :( Rodney Moore might of been guilty for some crime but violating the police on purpose was NOT one of them :) thank you and please consider this...black people have as much equal rights as white people like you and me :)
