Anyone not on last year's newbie list can be on this year's. Some of them overlap, but that is the luck of the draw.
In that case I nominate Jeanna Fine in best newbie ! I only just saw her for the first time recently , and I doubt she was on last years' list .
Katsumi is a seasoned European performer , having her as a new girl is quaint but odd . It reminds me of that old riddle - "If a tree falls in a forest and nobody is there to hear , does it make a sound ?" Perhaps in this instance it should be - "If a girl does porn but it isn't in America , has she really been in porn ?"
The Steve Hooper thing was just a possible correction . Still , I have heard of a Hooper , but not a Hopper .
Like it or not, most of the people reading my site, contributing to the nominations and voting are American so yes, she is new to the vast majority of the people participating. In fact, when I asked her about her porn past, Katsumi only wanted to talk about what she had done in the States.
There are a number of women nominated this time who are Euros. Had you nominated Katsumi last year or whenever she started, she would have been on the list. It's not a perfect system, but I wanted to open it up to readers.
Sorry about Jeanna though. The noms are closed and the brackets set. Thank God.
Just a minor cultural difference , that's all . Guess we're more used to watching American shows (porn and mainstream) than you are European stuff . No biggie .

I'm flattered to be on the Female Performer list, but as I only started in Feb, can I be on the Newbie list too? Or does that mean I'll still be elligable for Newbie next year too? Not that I'll win... I'm not a fave of Rog's...lol xxx
I wouldn't say that. I've only seen you in two movies.
The nominations though are based on fan input. Someone nominated you for Best Performer, but not for Best Newbie. It does seem odd to me and there are always duplicate names so if someone were to nominate you.....(hint, hint) then you will probably end up on both ballots.
The brackets have been chosen and checked so hopefully we get started soon and any huge screw ups will be covered.
Thanks to Drew's hard work and your help with the nominations we should have another good year with less cheating and BS than in the past. Yay!!!!
All categories have 8 brackets the first week. Most have 8 nominees for a field of 64. (Some have more, one has 32) In all cases, the top two finihers will advance to a Sweet Sixteen next round.
From there we have four brackets of four to weed to the elite 8 followed by two brackets of 4 for the final four.
The final four is still up in the air. One bracket of four with the final 2 advancing or two brackets of 2 with the top finisher advancing? Any thoughts.
At any rate, we can have fun handicapping the brackets starting tomorrow.
Might as well have two brackets of two. If you do it the other way, you already have a "winner" of the final four bracket. Vote-splitting could conceivably create a new winner in the final, but if it doesn't, then the result is pretty anticlimactic.
The other way around, voters don't seem to be able to do an abstention from voting. Even in this round I had a few brackets where I only knew two or three nominees. And watching the preliminaries epecially in the director's section there is ample chance I will not know a single one, in some brackets of the next round. So I'd probably have to stay away from voting, since it would be random votes and this seems to be a little unfair.
I wonder how much hatemail would have found it's way to your inbox if you hadn't caught the missing Teagan in time. She's pretty much tearing up the competition in her newbie bracket. Cutie Shy Love doesn't look like she'll make it to the next round.
Zartyr, you can abstain from voting in some brackets. Simply select the next one in line from the mail.
