| gfunk Member 236 Posts 10/09 | Posted - Dec 29 2009 : 8:43PM i'm with you on courtney - while a big name she's not as big as jenna but she has used different social networking avenues to get votes. jenna has mentioned it but hasn't put on a full court press. we'll see if jenna ups her game in the finals. you're very right, it's not just about how many myspace or twitter followers you have (although it does help) but it's how many LOYAL followers you have and whether you promote the contest or not. it's about seeking out those fans who don't use twitter/myspace such as other messageboards/forums or your own website. as far KLK goes...i will say that i hate how people argue that simply doing the most work makes you the best performer. IMO it overexposes you and makes me get sick of seeing you all the time. nothing against kagney and i know she's sweet and a very good performer but i'd rather performers pick quality over quantity. i feel the way angelina has gone about picking her projects has been wise (and should prevent her from burning herself out). but yes it is interesting to see how such contests/awards end up going with the growth of the internet [Link] |

The powerhouse Jenna Haze has gotten off to a fast start but as we all know it's not how you start but how you finish (7 days is a lot of time). Will the other contenders pull any tactics to garner votes such as sexy pics/vids? I am disappointed that no one has thrown Rog a bone as far as personally taken campaign photos/videos (with the exception of Eva). Speaking of Eva when will she make her move? She's been relatively quiet thus far. Nikki has been quiet as well. Looking forward to seeing some lead changes in the coming days. Best Newbie: As I said 7 days is a long time and I'm wondering if Amia Miley can hold on to her early lead for the entire stretch. She's been shamelessly begging for votes every 15 minutes on Twitter - can she keep milking and milking votes out of her followers or can you only go to the well so many times? Kagney Linn Karter has threatened to overtake the lead a few times but to no avail. The other contenders are not slouches either with reigning Nightmoves Starlet of the Year Angelina Armani and Brooke Lee Adams who has a loyal following dating back to her Zeba and Anastasia days. Could either of these two be the dark horse? Best Male: I must say I was surprised/disappointed to see James Deen didn't make the finals. I'm also surprised that Marco Banderas has such a substantial lead as I'm not aware of him really having a web presence (he is a prolific performer so I'm not taking that away from him). Are all these votes coming from South America ;) ? As far as the other contenders I can see Brazzers fans giving their contract guy Scott Nails a push and Lexington Steele getting votes due to his appearances in pop culture. Not sure how Mandingo made it all the way here, haha. Best Director: This almost feels like a consolation round for Best Female with Kevin Moore showing up to the wrong party. I'd be really surprised if the powerhouse Jenna doesn't take this as the competition is weaker than it is for Best Female. I really would love to see Joanna Angel, who had a kickass year writing/directing/performing many of her own productions, win it all but I just don't know if she has enough to compete with Jenna. I'm also looking forward to seeing if Kevin Moore can make another run or if his fans will betray him for one the other 3 hot ladies. Favorite Company: This is an intriguing match-up. As I mentioned earlier I had been looking forward to seeing how Internet companies (who have many loyal subscribers) would fare vs. a DVD company like Elegant Angel and I must say it is turning out as expected with the Internet Co's in the lead. While IMO NA is putting out better content than Brazzers, as well as an excellent Live show offering, they still haven't caught up to Brazzers in terms of popularity or following. It's also interesting to see Burning Angel, a hybrid company with DVD offerings as well as a network of Internet sites, coming in second. I wonder if they can ride these different outlets along with Joanna Angel's star presence to victory. Well that is it for my analysis - looking forward to seeing how the matchups turn out. Seems the fairest way as it is just too close. If that's not possible then Eva makes the most sense given how much she has campaigned. For best newbie it's clearly between Kagney and Amia. Maybe do a vote off there as well but given Amia has wanted it more it would be fair to let her have it. Best director - hilarious comment Skronker about Kevin. I like him too but something shady went on there, lol. As far as most deserving I'd give it to Joanna but who would get the most votes in a fair setting would have to go to Jenna Best Company - Brazzers as you said, consistent with industry trends So here are the people who should win: Best Female: Eva or Jenna, with Eva getting the edge due to her campaigning Best Newbie: Amia or Kagney, with Amia getting the edge simply due to wanting it more and campaigning more Best Male: Scott Nails, slightly over Lexington Best Director: Jenna Haze Best Company: Brazzers I think those are the fairest results. Those totals will be factored into the final vote and anyone can verify the IP of a member on the thread.Four VERY deserving women here. Amia is campaigning hard. Whoever wins this deserves it.There are a couple of important things to point out here. First, this whole final four is unexpected. Jules Jordan has dominated this award for a decade and he wasn't even close. (Ditto Robby D, Darkko, Leslie, Silvera, William H and a number of talented fan faves.) Did these directors have horrible years and just fall out of favor? Hardly. It is far more likely that we are seeing what happens when this poll spreads beyond its traditional reach. Readers of my site and ADT have long made up the bulk of voters and it has been easy to predict who was going to win. The closed voting system kind of kept a lid on things as well. Now that it's opened up, people can campaign on Twitter for votes, can turn members of their own sites into votes and can tell people about the poll on forums other than this one. As I mentioned in another post I have done some research and I think what we are seeing is the result of some major threads on other forums. There is nothing at all wrong with campaigning for votes on this forum, others like it, Twitter, Facebook, wherever. It's a fan favorites poll after all. If anyone finds a thread or post somewhere encouraging people to cheat the system, I want to see it. Otherwise it's just good fun, right? I think the numbers have been strange in a lot of race, but "cheat" and "fraud" are harsh words, especially in the absence of proof of either. Let's see what happens in the next few days and congratulate those who have campaigned hard to bring in new voting blocks. | gfunk Member 236 Posts 10/09 | Posted - Jan 3 2010 : 8:35PM The idea of a vote off between Eva and Jenna is when I thought you were doing away with the online voting and using a hybrid of those votes and the forum votes (their vote totals were a lot closer when I said that). If that isn't the case then I have no problem with the numbers speaking for themselves. As you said, Eva has campaigned harder and has earned her spot on top. This isn't a judgment against Jenna as I think she has simply been busy this final round. The other two ladies campaigned hard too through all the rounds and deserve credit as well. Agreed on the four newbies all being deserving candidates - so much so that I made an ass of myself when I thought Amia was making negative comments about some of them on Twitter, haha. But really this ENTIRE class of newbies has really been great/diverse and these four reflect that. Angelina has done a lot of high quality work in addition to doing PR/political activism. Brooke did a lot of great work as well and even established a website (DirtyLittleMe.com) where new models can create their own personal paid websites. She's even invited models to her home and helped them get content together, which shows her willingness to help others. Amia worked very hard and even with the name change has done a great job of establishing her place in the industry. And Kagney...well no one can question her staggering amount of output this year combined with appearances in pop culture (she had an appearance on Howard Stern early in 2009). As you said I'm sad all four can't win but Amia has out campaigned the other three and deserves to win. Nice analysis on the director bracket too - it is unexpected and showed that women with a big following can get their fans to vote. I hate to question Kevin either as I enjoy his work and he's put in 10 years of service as a director. If he and his fans really did pull that rally in a legit manner then kudos to him. Rog I trust you to use your analysis/instincts when it comes to deciding whether the votes were fair. If you think the numbers speak for themselves then I have no problem with that. No problem with the analysis, happy to do so. As I said, thanks for running this again and I'm sorry for any grief the voting procedure has caused you.
