| delijoe Member 29 Posts 10/01 | I'm very new to the adult film scene so bear with me if this question is stupid. Is there a feature out there that has a romantic plotline, where some kind of romance or love story leads to the sex (rather then just jumping into sex with no apparent reason). I personally think having a love story lead into sex gives the illusion of more chemistry between the performers and thus enhances the experience. That's something that's sorely (no pun intended) needed, but you've probably noticed how little VARIETY there is in porn. I'm sure there are some features like that ~ I wish I could think of a name, maybe someone else can help you out. I'm with you, though. We just need a little romance with our ass reamings and facials. |

So, boo to these new speed spankers, though it does add a certain uncertainty to the ending, it's true. As for where this splooge will land, that's also a thrill a minute...just trying to guess, gets me wet, I'm tellin ya. That's what keeps it interesting, I guess. |
| Endorphin Luminary 1185 Posts 3/00 | On a more serious tip, there is plenty of variety in porn, the problem is that all of that variety is lumped into fetish porn. It is easier to find a title with transvestite nymphos or over 60 women than it is to find a straight title with no girl/girl action. Kinda makes me feel bad for the ladies. I hear all these requests for good couples porn, but all the responses I see refer to titles that contain g/g scenes. I personally wish I could find more titles that feature bondage, unfortunately all of those seems to have to include nipple clamps and whips. And quite frankly, some of the box covers frighten me. Delijoe, you can find titles like High Heels and Sex Island that have a semi-erotic feel, and that is arguably romantic. However, it seems to me that you are looking more for a chick flick that includes a pop shot. That would be hard to find. The problem with the current ratings system is that there is a huge gap between R and X. This is one big reason why I don't like plot porn. An authentically good plot would most likely not require that somehow at least 4 sex scenes take place in their entirety. Then again, I wouldn't really care to purchase a DVD with only one sex scene (unless of course that sex scene lasted 1 1/2 hours and consisted of 30 cheerleaders..or French Maids..I'm flexible). If you want romance, you may be better off looking at soft core. maybe even something like Red Shoe Diaries. Hey! At least you still get to see boobies. It does help in working up to the sex scene between Joel Lawrence (who's excellent in the movie) and Alexa in the end. Knockout, also from Wicked, is another great title that has a bit more of a romance, and leads up extremely well to the final scene between Brad Armstong and Stephanie Swift. Underworld by Michael Raven from Sin City is a love story about a guy who goes into Hell to rescue his girlfriend. It's very different from many other adult films, and made me an instant fan of Michael Raven. Raven's Adrenaline is also a great love story, about a small time crook who falls for a waitress in a town he and his partner hole up in for a couple days. Hopefully this helps you out some. Most importantly, remember... there are no stupid questions, only stupid people. |

It's all boy girl vaginal and oral sex in beautiful tropical island outdoor settings (Maui), all with a boyfriend / girlfriend sort of feel to it. No girl girl either, as I recall. There's affectionate stroking and gazing at each other and build up before the sex begins. However, there isn't a word of dialogue. Just a nice music soundtrack. So it's not exactly a plot heavy vehicle. <g> The scene and angle changing happen often enough to maintain interest. Though I wouldn't think this is the sort of thing you'd watch raptly all the way through at one setting, hands folded neatly in your respective laps. It's a sort of visual initiator and then wallpaper sort of thing, to play around to. You can run instead a commentary soundtrack by Tera and the director. This runs through the whole feature with the same visuals going on. It' not a plot though, just commentary. As well there are videos that have some real good erotic setups for the sex, often in a vignette style around a loose plot. Examples of this are First Lady and Masquerade, both starring Laure Sainclair, from Wicked/Marc Dorcel. They aren't however exactly romances about first falling in love. First Lady is about Laure as the madame President of France or perhaps of a major corporation being blackmailed into living a second life as a hooker and/or picker up of strange men in the evenings, depending upon her "assignment". (Ridiculous in overview for someone in her position of course, but it works really well erotically if you suspend disbelief about the top level premise.) Masquerade does involve a married couple, but when Laure discovers a matchbook in his clothes that tells her he's been cheating with call bordello girls, she decides she needs to find out what they have and she doesn't -- and moves into the life on the side for a while. Also lots of erotic setups for the sex in each scene. Most Vivid and Wicked, and a lot of VCA, porn titles involve a plot and often one or more established relationships. But they also virtually never involve monogamy. (Wicked and VCA tend to have much better titles in my experience.) Porn you see is usually about forbidden or edgie sex. Rather than usual monogamous romance, even at its early sweetest. There's got to be some just like you're asking for. But I can't think of any. <gg>

| dexplorer Member 442 Posts 8/01 | It may involve a sort of romance, but it hardly invovles monogamy -- even as the end stage of a journey. It looks like an excellent couples movie. For the aspiring cuckold and his enduringly slutty (and proud of it) partner. Wait. That sounds like more than a few porn marriages, doesn't it? I wonder if it will last? Do you suppose Miss Jones will have to share the wealth? Oh never mind. Here I am, importing concepts from some other threads. <gg>

| Phadrus00 Member 22 Posts 6/01 | I gotta compliment the community on this one! There are sooo many great responses and suggestions to the topic! I think there is a lot of great insight about the gaps in hardcore porn here and it certainly is a barrier to entry for many folks that want to add a little spice to their sex-life but simply cannot handle the gynecology or girl/girl shots (not to mention the copius facial cooze). The point was made earlier that hardcore targets forbidden or edgy sex largely. Perhaps as adult entertainment becomes more and more accepted, and the movement over the last few years of adult video stores into the bedroom communities is certainly helping, we will see the content shift to appeal to a larger more mainstream audience. The adult industry is just that, an industry, and if there is a demand for a product they will certainly pursue and target that market. In the interim though there is some very good material produced for the "softcore" market. Not simply the hacked versions of hardcore that you get in your hotel room but "erotic" movies created to appeal to couples. The "Red Shoe Diaries" is one of the best examples in my opinion. The series features very talented actors and actresses, very well written scripts, and high production value. These stories are engaging, entertaining and very erotic. but they are Not hardcore and yOu will not see any male genitalia, and no penetration. Lots of Buns and Boobs but no Bait and Tackle! *grin* But hey! If you are watching it with a partner, thats ok! Phadrus00

| dexplorer Member 442 Posts 8/01 | We've probably given you the impression that all of it is "harder" than some of it really is. Try renting "The First Lady" or "Masquerade" and see if they don't appeal to you. I bet they will. Another suggestion. In the reviews section search for reviews by Steph or dumblonde. They tend to appreciate, among other things, the sort of thing you and your gf are looking for. So look for reviews that's gotten higher ratings from them and see if something appeals. |
