I don't think this comes as a surprise to anyone. He's been accused of sexually assaulting stars since at least the 80s. One of my favorite actresses of all time Ginger Lynn accused him back then. She wasn't the only one. But the industry ignored them because he was a big name. I wouldn't be surprised to find out he was doing the same back in the Avon days. When everyone knows someone is a monster, there isn't much to discuss, except for how to change the industry so people like him aren't allowed to thrive anymore.
Jailed porn star Ron Jeremy is expected to face a jury in his sprawling serial-rape case in February, a judge said Tuesday.
The mustachioed mainstay of the adult-film industry was pushed into a courtroom in downtown Los Angeles in a wheelchair, his wrists cuffed in his lap and his signature long hair now completely white.
Judge George Lomeli said he expects the upcoming trial to run four to six weeks. He asked Jeremy if he agreed to set his next appearance for January 6th, with the understanding his trial would start "in the latter part of February."
A new documentary reveals the stories of former fans and colleagues of the star of over 2,000 adult films, who claim the self-confessed 'groper' blurred the lines between movie set and real life
Going to be a tough defense for Ron. A lot of alligations he will have to defend against. Going to have to take it to trial. Head counsel in Weinstein's NY trial was from Chicago, Donna Rotunno does primarily sex crimes. Weinstein's other lawyer: Damon M. Cheronis is a beast. I saw Ron Jeremy's attorney I don't know him. California has a ton of high power defense lawyers. Man, I feel for Ron having been through a criminal trial myself. County jail sucks! I went to prison for three years over some non contact sex sh!t. Pictures man. In my type of case it came down to a battle of the computer experts, if I had gone to trial. In Ron Jeremy's case, it relies heavy on the credibility of the witnesses. Weinstein did not take the stand which is almost always recommended by counsel. If a DA is allowed a chance to cross examine a defendant it could go south real quick. Better in most cases to stand with the 5th amendment. Sex crimes in the United States are some of the most heavily prosecuted and overly sensationalized. If alligations run back decades it could way heavy on the back of a defendant. Kellen Winslow II was a high profile sex case in CA. Winslow's case went back decades, it went back to his college football days. Thomas Mesereau was defense counsel for Micheal Jackson and represented Bill Cosby for a spell. Thomas Mesereau's fee is 500 thousand. Thomas Mesereau met with R.Kelly as well. Criminal justice is a cruel entity. With sex crimes tried in the court of public opinion, it can be hard to get a fair trial. I fought for three and half years and was forced to plea. Sadly in WI, my home state, the criminal justice system is corrupt and the cardinal rule is: Don't hire a lawyer from WI. In the Midwest it's all about Minneapolis. I personally hired and fired three lawyers. All crooks.
However serious allegations against someone may be, and the allegations against Ron J. are very serious, I can't see the justice in how the likes of he and many others can be incarcerated for months and sometimes years before coming to trial. That is the sort of thing you would expect from China or North Korea. I certainly shouldn't want to fall foul of the US Justice system from what I've seen of it recently.
Wow, how awful for his victims. I feel like the headline could be a bit clearer about exactly why he has been "freed." i.e. Not because he is innocent.
