While some girls get dropped for being no shows there are girls who make a good living self-booking. They've cut out the middle man. The most popular girls in porn now tend to be very young looking Teens. And for some reason girls with huge implants and heavy tattoo's/piercings are also popular. While many of these items are legitimate expenses/deductions they can get out of hand and leave models with little money left over at the end of the week. By now, Alex knows most of the players and can deal with them directly. She is in a much better position to negotiate, for instance, to have production companies pay for air transportation instead of paying the 15% agency fee to Motley. This is, of course, contingent upon her being very reliable, which I think she has proven she is. Another reason may be the failure of Motley to renew their license, but I have little idea of how that works. Maybe they already renewed it.  In any case, I applaud Alex for going out on her own. I think it will give her much more freedom to book both big production houses, but also work with some of the newer, more creative producers and produce content that will be a longer lasting income source. Regarding companies paying for her transportation costs, I don't think that's very common - Vegas companies like Brazzers, Naughty America, PornPros can pay for it if there's enough interest but not so sure about companies in LA. Going independent might give her more freedom but at the same time without an agent she risks being ripped off by some producers. [Link] |

They certainly have the right to deduct it from the model's earnings. But charging large amounts for transportation to shoots is another story, especially if it means the model makes very little after doing two weeks of scenes. No, I'm not being positive for positive's sake. While Alex doesn't fit in either the teen or MILF category, (thank goodness), she has many, many other qualities that make her, IMHO, a very desirable model. I think those assets are very discover-able. I share your concern about her getting ripped off by unscrupulous producers, but I have confidence she will make good decisions.
