When you download something and you are asked Run or Save--which is best? I usually say Run--but have no reason behind that choice.

Depends on what it is. If it's something I won't be reinstalling frequently, or is frequently updated, no point in saving it.

As with RP, whether I run it or save it depends on what it is, and whether I'm likely to want to keep it.
Since you should have an antivirus agent running in the background at all times, it shouldn't matter whether you run a program from the internet or save it first. Either way, it should be checked by your AV before it is allowed to execute.

I tend to be anal about such things. I always save it in a folder appropriately named and nested by category, complete with a text file describing what it is, what it does, and where I found it (including the URL).
